Best to miss this casino..very few winners. After several months playing slots here you really get a feeling for pay outs. Better off to travel to north star...you see people winning. Very few do well...and casino can care less...very sad.

bus trip, very tight slots the whole bus agreed no one will be returning... in bed by nine food in the restaurant was good, but service in big dining restaurant was horrible, asked waitress if our food almost ready after waiting for 20 mins, said she just checked another ten minutes, I said ten more minutes?? she said ok 3 mins does that make you feel better now.. we ordered eggs.. dining room was empty! very rude not worth the drive.

Their customer service is pretty darn good and the best of the best are the doormen/greeters/valet parkers who you meet first upon entering the casino. They are a wonderful bunch who don't get enough credit for the work they do. Although I have yet to win something substantial at Torches, I generally come home ahead of my pocket. My day is coming though!! Players Club Advantage is pretty good and they have very nice gifts. Sometimes their promotions are generous and sometimes they are stingy, just depends I guess. I wish that one could accrue points faster on the cards tho and that they would increase the weekly free play amount given. Pit bosses were very nonchalant about it ... Even though there signs displayed that craps is open for play every day. Went to the Prime Rib Buffet - buffet sat for at least 5 minutes without prime rib being set out and the ice cream machine was broken! Waitresses running floor cleaner during dining hours. I did pretty well. Judging from the past reviews I guess I was the exception. I came up from Milwaukee and wanted to check them out. It was a helluva long drive. I started with $200 and worked it up to $1200, no joke. Then I started playing the Wizard of Oz penny machine and that was my demise. I have been to Potowatami here in Milwaukee a many times and never won anything so I was pretty surprised when I got on a winning streak at this casino. An 80% payout seems pretty darn good compared to the crappy payouts here in Milwaukee. We had lunch buffet and when we came up to be seated the host walked so fast that we almost lost him going to the table. Then we both had ate a dish of food before we got anything to drink. When I asked for a beverage the girls response we would get it as soon as she could find our waitress. There was a woman named Corey that worked in valet that was helping out and from just watching her we could see that she could work circle around their wait staff. All the waitress were walking around like they couldn't care if they were there or not. This was our only complaint. The rest of the casino experience was great. They need to consider a course on customer service for the restaurant staff. You will have a great time here. It is a nice atmosphere, but you will pay dearly for it. The slots must have about a 80% payback chip in them, some of the worst I would venture to say in the northwoods. Restaurant used to be good for the money and used to have a nice variety menu years ago, now that is way overpriced. Staff always seems unfriendly at the players club. Offer a lot of promotions for cheap gifts, and other baits to get you in the door. Hotel stays and pool facilities are above average, and a lot of times are offered at fair rates.
