I have gambled in dozens of establishments for going on 15+ years and by far without a doubt Ho-Chunk is the worst casino/hotel i've ever come across. I am not even sure where to start with this (bad) review but I think its my responsibility to inform gamblers the bad points about this place to sway people who are on the fence about going or not.

Fist off the food, I have never ever had worse casino food in my life. When you are tapped out for the day on funds and your need some food in the system and you look down to see that you have a free buffet or casino comps I seriously contemplate starving for 12+ hours to eat fast food in the morning. Your chance of getting a meal that has any sense of flavor/taste or value is about as good as walking away with a win from gambling here.

Second is the gambling, its no big secret in wisconsin that gambling is regulated by a small handful of people that have to keep watch over a dozen establishments across the entire state. Most states even with Indian gaming are pretty transparent on slot machine payout percentages and methods of punishing "cheating" table games by the casinos. But in wisconsin its an approximate--unproven % on machine payouts and when casinos have gotten caught rigging table games (blackjack taking ace's out for 5's) it was met with a slap on the wrist penalty. Ho-Chunk knowing this lax policy for the regulators policing policies and they pull no punches with their gambling options. You can honestly do a few laps around the casino and see zero handpays and nobody shouting like they are winning on the machines. The only reactions you notice is people getting angry that their gambling budget lasts 1/2 as long here compared to any other casino in the U.S. As for table games they have only made them worse. I remember being there the weekend on their double-deck blackjack game they removed the option to double after split and split only 2 hands and one of the pit bosses tried to convince me that it was better for the players which I laughed in their face. The only saving grace here which gives it 2 stars for gambling instead of 5 is they do actually have all the gabling options you'd desire in terms of later generation machines, poker room, some-what friendly dealers but it ends there.

Players club is a joke, they can't decypher between a quarter slot machine player and someone who pulls $5 slot machines or $5 blackjack vs someone who wagers at $100+ a throw. You get rated poorly no matter what you play, I can and have lost 2x more here compared to some of the elite Las Vegas properties over the course of a couple days and gotten 80% less in terms of value coming back to me in terms of food, lodging, freeplay, gifts..etc

The overall atmosphere is fair at best, you can't use comps on the fly to pay for alcoholic drinks which is a shame. I know you can make the case for not giving it away because it would put bars in the area in a pinch but the least you could do is use the stingy comps you give away towards your over priced alcoholic drinks so liven up the atmosphere if you are going to rob everyone with tight machines and poor table game rules. If you are a true gambler nobody is there to make sure you are having a good time or getting taken care of but its gambling so whatever right? If you are someone looking for an atmosphere of entertainment and think "Oh, gambling...that sounds fun" please look elsewhere for fun. Ho-Chunk is near one of the biggest tourist traps in the upper midwest--catch a movie, take a boat ride, play mini-golf, ride go-karts just stay away because you will waste more money, waste more time and get super irritated.

If you actually pay for a room at Ho-Chunk you made the first mistake, the best option is getting a cheaper/better option ANYWHERE in the lakedelton/baraboo/wis. dells area and taking the free Ho-Chunk shuttle if you desire to gamble on the property, please exercise this option since there is literally a hundred hotel options in the area and most of them have the things you'd desire (Indoor Pool, Wi-Fi, Breakfast..etc). As stated food options are terrible so unless you are lucky enough to lose the proper amount and get a free stay here I wouldn't actually pay to stay here.

Never go back to that casino. Lost every hand dealer had blackjack 8 times in a row never had a card count less than 20 that is not right. There is a secret video coming out soon about ho chunk casino. It shows 4 shoes that this player had 12..13..14..15..16 every hand and it was the same card combination and suit.which is impossible but first the dealer had 20 or 21 every hand. Watch for the video ho chunk will be a ghost town after. Cheating is bad very bad you may win some and lose some but this will be that casino killer. People are what makes your business cheating bad business
