Out of bread bowls in the restaurant by 8:00pm, restaurant wa not busy, only 3 tables at a time. Service was slow and we were her only table. Slots tight, older crowd playing one game for hours, putting garbage cans on the seat to save it while they get more cash. Their partner, Nekoosa, is much better.
Slots too tight. Casino has felt more and more recently like a tourist trap than a fun recreational center. Ho Chunks over their heads in expansion and I am tired of paying way more than my share on the floor. C'mon, Ho Chunks, loosen up the machines a little. As it is, I am not planning on viewing the new hotel or gaming floor. They send out surveys but don't really take the comments of the consumers to heart.
i have been frequenting ho-chunk gaming wittenburg as well as their convenience store whitetail crossing since 2008-2009 and i will say that although this casino is small it is a fair place to game at. don't expect any huge payouts on their quarter slots as there is not that many to begin with but their max bet is 2 so it is more than fair. the machines are easier to play as you can just press the spin button. the cash coaster is a high paying machine as well as the goldbugs(have recently been a bit tighter) the staff there are EXCEPTIONALLY COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY, ESPECIALLY TO PATRONS WITH DISABILITIES. my buddy is on oxygen and in a wheelchair and when we game out at "the HO" as we call it, the staff are always right at the door (they have designated staff at the doorway to greet and open the door) waiting and willing to accommodate him. the staff even went up to my friend at one point noticing he was a regular and handed him a voucher that was abandoned and told him to play it off. it wasn't more than a few cents but the gesture towards a man in a wheelchair was all the proof that was needed. BE SMART with your bankroll and do not go to ho-chunk to expect a jackpot as most likely you wont get a huge one but they do play fair. i won 1,080 there last may 2011 at 2 am on the reel money 5 center doing the min bet button. and have won decently at times on the quarter slots. the key is to go BEFORE NOON or at 2 AM. they are open 24/7 from late spring until late fall during the winter season they revert to their old hours which they have extended to 4 am. and ho chunk has good lemonade:) i have also frequented the whitetail crossing mainly for the tobacco shop and gas and the prices are fair. remember CASH CUSTOMERS GET A FEW CENTS OFF/GAL AND YOU GET A FEW MORE CENTS OFF WHEN YOU PRESENT YOUR PLAYERS CARD. its like a nickel off last i checked and is a decent deal total CAN BE COMBINED FOR GAS PURCHASES also its philips 66 gas and is of superior quality and doesn't burn right up. recap: the entire establishment is a good place to go you feel welcomed and oh on certain days they offer free valet parking.
I've been to this casino for 3 years, i lost every time i go. ..they first opened in 2008. my first time there was 2009, i did win big, three times won 1,200..after fall 2009, i won only a couple hundred here and there, then in 2010, i won nothing at all. maybe they gave out so much when they were new just to get you going back?. after awhile, they have lousy slot machines..no fun slot machine like other places..i will never go back to this casino ever again..i went there every week and the most people win is $2,000 and under but not every wk winnings, once in a while..seems like there is one security guard, who each time i go would always ask for my ID since i was over 30 yrs old, but for others, she doesn't ask for their id..because i'm asian?.. the last time i went there, here she is at the door asking for my id, i asked her, do i look like i'm underage? she answered me "Yes, You do look like you're underage." but i believe she is just being racist..bcuz i'm 35..people can tell ages by just looking at the person..
Slots are ridiculously tight September 2011. Can't expect to win. My wife goes here several times a week and she hasn't won in 2 months. My last bonus there was playing 150 credits on a penny machine, I got 25 spins at 3x pay and my total bonus was $4.00!
Before that played a different machine for an hour got no bonus lost about $100 playing 25 cents a spin.. Progressives are getting higher because they just don't pay like they used to. Either I didn't get a bonus or when I did it was really bad. You are lucky to last an hour playing a quarter a spin with $100. No table games, only slots. Two drink machines, only one has ice (in cafe area).
Employees always huddled around seem nosy as to what and how you play. They need to mind their own business. Don't waste your money here you will be sorry. If you do go, proceed with caution.
