I have wasted thousands and thousands every year at Dejope, yes I have a gambling problem. Somebody should tie me up when I even think of going. The smoker's stink is all over the place even in the non-smoking area. I have tried eating there and the food is horrible, wont eat there again, don't want to chance getting sick on the food and dirtyness. Employees are rude. The slot machines are greasy dirty and I wonder if they are ever cleaned with disinfectant. You can't really win, if you do win a little it either makes up a tiny portion of what you have spent that trip or it is so little it is just a little playing money. I don't like to use a players card because it is the casino's way of keeping track of your every movement in the casino, what machine you were on, for how long, how much you wagered how much you won. Techs at both Ho-Chunk & Dejope have told me that it is a lie that the slot machines payouts can't be regulated, they can be set for what percentage to pay out, sometimes I think it is minus percent. And when they say they have paid out all the millions they advertise, it is just like the win-loss statement you get, every penny the machine gives you counts as part of their advertised pay outs. This is a racket for indian casinos to take our money, and it is our own stupid fault for going there. I could of bought many houses with the money I blew. Somebody knock some sense into me. We need state regulated casinos with fair payouts, maybe with competition these indian casinos would be more fair. I should just hand my money to the indian casino people when I walk in the door and then go home and not waste my time. save your money for your food housing kids and grandkids.

My husband and I live pretty darn close to this place. We went in once and signed up for the Players Reward card, ever since we have been given "free plays" for each week of every month. It is not a whole lot. I usually get $20/week and he gets $10/week. I believe it is dependent on how much you have played in the past. They also will text you free entries to promotions, and extra free plays. We also get free food coupons. Oh and we went last night for the monthly promotion; we took a break from the slots to get dinner. We each had a Deluxe bacon cheeseburger. It was awesome! $7.25 each. VERY VERY good burger, huge portion and it comes with a large portion of extremely hot and tasty french fries! All drinks are always free which does sometimes unfortunately lead to rude people leaving their cups laying around the casino floor and on the machines. The servers are always really nice. The young man cooking takes serious control of his kitchen, we have watched him kick out a young server who was messing around and refused to put on a hair net. He would not tolerate it. Food has always come out fast and very hot and tasty! Servers offer to grab you some ketchup even though it is right next to you...or they will grab you some silverware even though it too is self serve and we could have easily gotten it ourselves.
We enjoy playing the slots - and yes it is based on BINGO wins and you can tell if you have won before the reels stop - but it is still fun. We don't plan on getting rich by going here. It is a casino - they are not in the business of giving away money. But we have each won more than we have lost. One night my husband was called twice for a tournament promotion they were having - he won $250 and then $125. We only played the free $20 & $10 free plays they had sent us.
The only complaint I can even offer is about the smoking. It used to be all smoking and it was always very smoky and stinky. I do not smoke but my husband does. Even he thought it stunk quite bad. But they have recently changed it so that about 1/3rd of the casino is designated as smoke free. But since it is all open, it is really like having a no peeing area in a pool. It is still very stinky and you will leave with a sore throat, smelly hair and clothing and burning eyes. Even if you stay in the "non smoking" side of the casino. Also, the pay cage is on the smoking side as is the Rewards Booth and the stage where they do all the promotions. So you can expect to be exposed to large amounts of second hand smoke and stink. It is just part of the deal.
As for people who say the machines are tight? I don't know what you consider tight. Last night I played with my $20 in free plays - I left with $400. We were there for 5 hours.
So - all said, it is a great time, very much fun - great food and service and unless you can't tolerate the stink - you should go have some fun!

I really tried to give this place a shot but after spending about $50,000 there this year only managing to eek out about $6000 in wins I can honestly say this place is not for me. Jackpots are rare if ever and the number of jackpots that could end you in the + column for the year are almost non existent. It wouldn't be so bad if you could walk in with $500 and play all night or how about 2 or 3 nights but it is rare to see it last more than an hour. Seldom do you see $500 or $1000 wins to make it interesting. Their big deal is a progressive that has about 100 machines hooked to it that goes off every 3 or 4 days but the machines really don't pay max bettors except for the jackpots and the odds just aren't that good when money just doesn't last. Their reward program is a joke. The most you can get is $100 a week in comps which lasts an average of 20 minutes and when you spend $500 to a $1000 a night what kind of "Reward" is that. There is some good help but most of the help is unfriendly and uninspired probably because no one gets jackpots to tip them with. They also play little attention to the type of crowd they let in. I have had numerous people beg for money from me and there are many people that just troll the casino for jackpots to beg when you win. They do nothing to change this either since most of their gamblers are playing 30 or 40 cents a pull. I would just stay away and not get started. I just announced my retirement and I will wait for them to close and for the state to wake up and bring in some competition.

Seriously, don't waste your money, you can't win more than a pittance here, the tightest slots I've ever played. It's amazing to me that anyone goes to this casino & that Ho Chunk is allowed to operate in this state. Apparently they don't have to answer to the gaming commission on their pathetic "pay outs" The grill is over priced & the selection is less than a low rent hamburger joint.
