I live near this gaming center, it is nice but payouts on the machines seem to be streaky and all come at one time. Keep your eye on the cashout lines to see when thay are hitting.
Ninety percent of the machines use the printed ticket payout system. I seem to lose more often than I win here but food at the buffet is great and comps are pretty good.
Table gaming was just passed in WV and for all racetracks that have machines. Table gaming is supposed to be up and running by Labor Day 2007.
I would call first if you are planning to visit before October 2007 to see if table games are up and running yet if that is your interest.
Wheeling Island now has the poker table games (hold-em, 7 card stud, high - low Omaha and others) up and running, the rest of the table games are not playing as of yet.
They are supposed to start Nov 1st, 2007. Check their website or call first if coming to play other table games.
One note here, there are only ten (10) card tables at this location to play cards, so there may be a waiting period to get a seat to play.
