My husband and I decided to pay a visit to Tri-State to gamble for a few days since it had been quite some time since we last visited. This time we stayed at the new hotel because the couple traveling with us wanted to stay there as opposed to the Sleep Inn down the road. What a MISTAKE.....a sleepless night in a room that we paid $129 plus taxes for and we weren't sleepless due to gambling. It is unbelievable that the owners have built this hotel and now advertise themselves as a "RESORT" and they didn't bother to spend a little bit more money to build a "quality" hotel. Yes, it's pretty to the eye....but it's devastating to the body and mind when it comes to being able to get any rest (sleep). The WALLS ARE PAPER THIN....you can hear every word of conversation in the rooms next to you if you happen to have neighbors that have even the slightest of above average voices. You can hear the TVs in the rooms next to you, you hear everything that is going on out in the hallways (talking, doors closing, etc.)

It was a HORRIBLE STAY AT THE HOTEL.....guests in the hallways shouting, cursing, slamming doors one after another. You would have just as much chance of being able to sleep in front of one of the slot machines as you have sleeping in this hotel.

No, I don't go to a casino to sleep...however, after 12 hours of gambling we both needed some rest and it would have been nice to have a few hours of sleep without interruption but not at this place. It's a shame that the owners didn't think that insulation and thicker walls was a priority to ensure the "guests" comfort and pleasure in staying at the hotel. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.....the Sleep Inn or Comfort Inn down the road put this hotel to shame as far as "customer service" and caring about their customer's comfort and satisfaction.

As for the casino.......just like always, the slots are TIGHT and after being there 2 days (1 night) I only saw one person being hand-paid a jackpot of $1,350. Never another bell, light or any other jackpot during this time.......certainly not like the old days when the place was packed, players were having fun and bells were ringing and jackpots were being won.....those days are long, long gone!!!! And so are we.......

I have never seen machines this tight! This weekend I spun through my entire bankroll of $200 in 30 minutes! I am a retired low roller who just plays for the enjoyment, but when I look at nothing but dead spins it just makes me mad.

My wife and I stayed at the new hotel on a Friday night as we were passing through West Virginia. We had been at the casino once before, and wanted to try out the hotel. We were very impressed with everything.

The hotel was a bit pricey, $119.00 + tax, but it was brand new. The bed was the most comfortable bed we ever slept on, the pillows were great, the room had lots of space and amenities, including a nice flat screen tv, and the bathroom was spacious with a great shower. The walls were a little thin, so noise did travel from room to room. The hotel had a great breakfast buffet, including made to order omelets. There was a business center with 2 computers, which was great as well. The hotel attendants even called the room to make sure that we had everything we needed. The only downside is that the pool is a little small, but there is a nice hot tub, exercise room, and deck area to make it nice. Overall, the customer service at the hotel was great.

The restaurant was very good. We ate the Friday night seafood buffet - $22.95 per person - which had a great selection. Crab legs, clams, salmon, prime rib, crab cakes, calamari, oysters, create your own pasta, salads, and great deserts were all on the menu. The server that we had was absolutely wonderful as she always had a drink refill ready and was quick to attend to any and all needs.

The casino is still small. There are not many table games, but there was a wide range of betting limits. Blackjack from $5 to $100 minimum bet, roulette from $5, three and four card poker, craps, and other games were all active. The slots are older than other casinos, and there was no “Jacks or Better” video poker from what I saw. However, there was a great range of betting levels, from .01 up to $1 and more. There were not a huge amount of people playing, but there were a good number of attendants and drink girls available.

The poker room was packed and lively. The poker room had many promotions going on for Texas Hold 'em, 7 Card Stud, and Omaha, including bad beat jackpots and specific hand promotions. The dealers were very friendly and would strike up a conversation with the table to keep people involved and interested. There were various poker room specials, including $1 drafts and hot dogs. There were a lot or regulars playing, which could be uncomfortable for some players.

The rewards in the casino were good. I made enough points playing poker for 5 hours to receive $4 in food credits. The rewards are rather limited however, and they do expire.

Overall, the casino was great. For the people that expect a casino to give away money, they are delusional. If you are expecting a fun time with good food, a great new hotel, and a relaxed place to gamble with friendly people, then this is a great place.

Playing three card poker today. I had 3 of a kind that paid me out really well. 2 hands later I did the smart thing and decided to get up. When I was getting up the dealer scoffed and said “Hitting and running are we?” And rolled his eyes at me! I told the floor manager about this but they didn’t seem to mind. Apparently they don’t hold their employees to a very high standard when it comes to basic manners.

We checked in for a 3 day stay on a package from the casino. First of all when i made the reservation nothing was said about a 50.00 a night incidentals charge, really they have my credit card. I said ok i would pay that in cash and they could give that back to me at check, so the money would not be a charge on my card. Well get this they don't take CASH. Really a casino hotel that doesn't take cash. You can't even pay for your room with cash. So we decided to get on our bank online and move some money around i ask to use the business center for online access the women says well u need a room key, well cant get a room cause we are not checked in. Ok pissed now got in our stuff off the cart got my laptop out set in lobby hooked up everything and moved some cash and checked in. Front desk not at all helpful more like they are better than u. Rooms nice and safe in room, walls thin, people in hotel as staff were nice except front staff. Casino ok slots TIGHT did i say TTTTTTTight, table games good nice dealers BUT if they are going to be open 24 hours the tables need to be manned we stayed there because we could gamble off times when they were not that busy Wrong only 1 blackjack table open late, staff friendly, big poker room, nice dog race viewing. All in all ok but they need to work on their people skills and open some more table games, I think we will just go back to comfort inn they know how to treat people, and we can ride the shuttle.
