I went there for my first "Casino" experience. The atmosphere is horrible. There is nothing there, but literally hundreds of people (mostly smoking elderly) that are mindlessly addicted to gambling and blowing their retirement money to the wind. It was sad to see these folks suffering in that hell hole.
If you're desperate to waste money in a casino, you're better off throwing it in the trash can. At least you'll save on gas :) Service was horrible, nothing to do there, waste of time and money.
Since the start of all the big giveaways and the new hotel,? the slots payback is very, very terrible.
My wife and I went on a weekend during the early afternoon with around a grand and had terrible luck. We understand it is a gamble and some say "a one armed ? bandit" but since the new hotel addition and all the glamour that is what you're paying for.
It seems now they can not afford to pay people anything. It seems they do not understand even if they let you win a little most will give it back. After this trip we made a promise not to return I suggest you go to either Pa. or Delaware casinos and stay clear of the ' high glamour ' at Charles Town (takes your money) slots.......
This place is something different than any other casino I have visited. The food service isn't pleasant and the staff is rude. Their comp program sucks and the slot machines don't pay off. By the looks of other reviews many people don't like this place either.
Gamblers who spend big are what they call "black card" members. They are the casinos royalty. They get first dibs on slots, resturants, cashiers, coupons, and any other type of promotion. They don't have to wait in line to cash their vouchers or to eat at a resturant. This means you can stand their all day as long as theres black card members in line.
The resturants aren't anything you should put on your "to do list". Just stop at any resturant on your way there. You'll save both money and time.
The Slots don't pay out as much as they used to. I rarely see people win. The employees aren't as friendly either. It seems like your bothering them by asking a simple question.
If you want to gamble worth your while visit Delaware. Make sure you look at the casino companies whenever Maryland gets slots. The same company (Penn National) that owns Charles Town races and slots has bought property in Maryland to open a casino. This means you will pretty much receive the same service and gambling experience you receive at Charles Town.
I visited this place on Saturday and it was packed as a can of beans! There was a really long wait for the eateries and the food didn't wow me. I would have been better off going to McDonalds and Saving $20.
We ate at a resturant called Sundance and it was awful. The burger was dry and you could tell it wasn't fresh. The bread ripped and fell apart right before you picked it up. After eating we went to their dessert stand and there was nothing to choose form.
There were almost no desserts and a really big line. They only had one person working that place on a Saturday. I personally think this company makes themselves look bad by the service they put out.
I was there all day and didn't win one dollar. I chatted with some other guests and they told me they hadn't won either. The least a comany can do is provide better food service at a fair price if they don't want to let guests win on the slots.
