I have been coming to Charle Town, WV for years and with me I bring my mother and sister, It is a mini vacation. I know I am going to lose and I usually lose big, at least for my standards. There are times I could have taken an European trip with what I have lost. Over time I had worked up to a Gold Card with nice promotions for all of my loses. I was getting free weekly $100 slot plays, a free room at their Hotel and money for the food court.

Now that the tables are in, Charles Town is catering to those players. I have been down graded to a silver card, because I don't come enough and I got $15.00 for free slots. For November I am only getting $10.00. When I complained, they said I don't come enough, I explained to them that I am doing what I have always done.

I do believe they have forgotten it was the buses bringing in the Senior Citizens and some of the lower wage people that kept the place open. Now that they have the Tables we have been pushed to the side. Another case of Social Classes, The Have and The Have Nots. Shame on West Virginia.

I draw Disability Social Security, my mom is retired in is 80 and my sister works. We live in Virginia, a two hour drive for my sister and me and a 4 hour drive for my mom. So we can not come as often as we like. I can't, because like most seniors I have to save so I come every 2 to 3 months.

Well this will probably be my last trip to WV, I know there will be someone else to take my place. The world will keep rotating and the sun will come up.

I just wanting to get that out there on how I feel.

Just a nobody to Charles Town Races and Casino

Here's a reality check -- you do not have a constitutional right to a $5 blackjack game. Table limits are based on customer demand. If they can fill up tables with $25 and $50 limits, why in the world would they lower the limit to $5 to accommodate a couple low limit players? And why in the world would a casino want to fill up its available seats with $5 players, who can buy in for $100 and sit at the table for hours upon end without bringing any additional revenue to the casino, and take available seats away from valuable $25+ players, who have the potential to generate thousands of dollars of casino revenue? If people are willing to pay $25 for a widget, the widget maker doesn't lower the price to $5 just to accommodate "lower limit" people. Why would a casino be any different? Casinos don't operate under some socialist system separate from the real world.

If you are upset because you go to the casino and can't play $5 blackjack, you really need a reality check. You are probably the same kind of person who gets upset that they can't get a $20 dinner comp after you lost 50 bucks playing tables and slots. If you can't afford to play more than $5 blackjack, maybe you should just stick to your penny slots, or stay away altogether? Or, better yet, start your own casino, offer nothing but $5 blackjack and cater to all the "lower limit" people, and see how long until you are forced into bankruptcy. But trust me, the casino won't lose any sleep over losing you and your $5 betting friends.

I've read all of the reviews, and I must agree with all the negativity for the slots. With a payback of 89.97%, that is lower than any casino in the United States. Why aren't they ashamed? I suppose because a few people still frequent their establishment and continue to lose whatever they brought with them and then some. I talked with a casino owner who had a very small casino with a very good payout. He pointed to a larger and prettier casino across the way. "A lot of chairs sit empty over there, but not here because I'm fair with them. "

I never go to Charlestown anymore because I have to live with the guilt and it is not fun!!! Go to DELEWARE PARK Their 92.69% payback should make your dollar go a bit farther. Don't expect to win at CHARLESTOWN. If you want to give money away, give to a needy charity.

Lately slots have become tighter, what few loose slots are available regulars have found and almost fight over.

I'm not a sore loser. I acccept my gambling debt and when my payout total drops below 75% I won't go back to the casino. It's become so bad there it's no longer uncommon for players club cards to be found on the ground in the slots, in the trash... not just their base members, but black level cards as well.

In one weekend my payout dropped to 50%. If you're gonna play, good luck to you. Look for the lowest payout slots with low max bets, and by no means does placement theory have any effect on your chances of winning.

It used to be fun. Now, all I hear is people cussing and swearing that they're not coming back. The only hot machine is the ATM. In three weekend trips and six hours a night, may have heard, or seen, a jackpot winning three times.

I feel like so many places its relative to your luck and overall knowledge of slots. West Virginia slots are set for an 85% payback, if you expect to hit the true jackpot good luck I only hit it once.

As far as play wise is concerned they do offer decent paybacks if you play their highest priced machines and have a good bankroll. If you play under their dollar slots forget it, they're set tight no matter where you play crosswalks, by the bars....

I usually have the best luck on their five dollar pulls. That being said I will never go back to Dover unless I have a $500 bankroll to blow in 5 minutes. Screw Dover. All I do is lose big. no wonder they offer free hotels which I tell them to shove.

Anyway, if you go to Charlestown, plan to play a $500 bankroll and 5 dollar pulls The quarters and most 50 cent slots are super tight, if you hit a decent payout you will be lucky to break even.

Also, avoid the multi-lines like in the money. By the time you? get a? decent hit you're not even breaking even. Also, avoid their hot hot jackpots. At best I can break even on my bankroll. Hope this helps, oh and their players choice is only helpful if you live nearby.
