I have been going to Charles Town for over 10 years as high limit slot player. Mostly playing $10, $25, and $100 slot machines. This place is really getting out of control and not sure when they have started remotely controlling their machines but it's getting ridiculous and not even funny when you get robbed every weekend. Go there in person and just ask any high limit players. $2000 dollars won't even last you an hour and $100 dollars into $10 dollar slot will last just few minutes. If you do hit a jackpot, it's measly $1,200 dollars and you have to pay over 35% gambling tax. It's lot less you spent to hit $1,200 dollars. They have been doing some construction to food court area and recently added sports betting. Sounds like they want us to pay for their construction bills fast. Winner raffle weekend is a joke. Nobody hits jackpot on the raffle night and their grand prize winner $10k is somebody we never heard or knows about. "Dead Give Away" ! For past 3 months going there ever weekend spending average over $5k per visit, I can clearly differentiate payouts, patterns, loss and win ratios. Listen, I have spent over $60k in past 3 months and their payout was less than 15% minus tax and your net is $5,850 dollars after spending more than $60K. I have been keeping track on my L&P on spreadsheet and bank statements to show proof. I am not upset because I've lost lot of money but upset in the manner of how I lost. All because my odds were drastically reduced due to their manipulation and controlling slot machines. We don't have a chance because it's already predetermined what, when, whom, what time, and how much to payout. When the machines are not hitting anything and no ones winning at the high limit slots, please do not waste anymore of your time and money. Doesn't matter how much you put in the machines, it's not going to hit. This review is solely based upon over 10 years playing at Charles Town and as high limit slot player. I won't go back to this place because we can't win any meaningful jackpots anymore and some fool is controlling our fate when to hit, who to payout, when to shut down the machine, and how much to payout. Management can respond to this review with "we have big jackpots daily". They will never tell you the truth and never response with any honesty, because why should they tell you the whole truth. If we knew about their game cheating manipulation then nobody will come. Hollywood Casino at Charles Town are highly organized criminals and should be investigated.

I am an avid $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em player who lives in Phoenix, AZ. This was my first time playing at Hollywood Casino's poker room, and I was not impressed with the playing experience here for a few reasons: 1) Drinks only come around to the tables once every 15-20 minutes. The dealers do not have the ability to call service, so if you're thirsty, you may have to make a trip to the soda fountain yourself. 2) This card room offers a NO LIMIT STRADDLE!! (UTG only). This is fine if one or maybe two players are straddling to $4 occasionally. However, there seemed to be a heavy "straddle culture" among the regulars at the $1/$2 tables where half the table would straddle anywhere from $10 to $12...essentially hijacking the game and turning it into a $5/$10 No Limit Hold'em game. This is obnoxious! The whole reason I (and many others I'm sure) play 200NL is because I can't afford to play $5/$10! This nonsense eventually led to another $1/$2 regular and me leaving the table for the night -- both frustrated that we were no longer able to afford the one game we came here to play. Even after bringing this grievance to the floor's attention, I was met with a very dismissive, "Oh well, sucks for you," attitude from management. After all, what do they care? More money for them, right?

I've been to casinos all over the USA, and while this isn't the best, it's been better to me than the other Hollywood properties (like paying for drinks in PA), and better than Dover and even the Poconos. The food is good, the staff always seems to be friendly, and while I did get a trainee blackjack dealer, she was with a regular dealer and we were offered the chance to move to another table if we wanted to. Just wish the minimum wasn't $15 for the 3:2 tables, and I'd play more often. I also play slots frequently and these are not any worse than anywhere else. I enjoy playing and have found three machines that I can hold my own on for reasonably long periods of time. That's all I hope for!

Been going to Ctown for a long time and they are doing nothing but disappointing. The slots are the tightest on the east coast is right. You need a $1k bankroll if you want to spend a few hours playing slots - all their slots are set to Hoover mode as they just vacuume up the $$ and give you NO FEATURE GAMES and little paybacks. Can't tell me spending $100 in a penny slot and spinning that entire $100 and not getting a SINGLE FEATURE/FREE GAME is normal - it isn't. I don't mind losing the $$ - but I DO mind when I am not entertained AND don't want to do it all in 30 minutes or less, and it is getting more and more like that just sucking up your money and giving you no entertainment value. Plus management has given up - no new slots like Walking Dead or Monopoly - pathetic. After 10 years of patronage - this place is dead to me.
