I have been reading the comments and while I agree its frustrating to lose money its also frustrating to see people surprised they didn't win a jackpot or walk away with a wad of cash. It's called gambling for a reason! For the commenter(s) that said they were robbed or got angry because they were never ahead, well that's life, and no one forced you to gamble. You know the risks when you put your money in the machine, you are free to go at any time. I play there maybe 2 times a week, maybe $40-$60 each time, I lose some and some times I walk away ahead maybe $20, its not much but still a win.
As for Clearwater casino, its definitely one of the better ones, the staff is amazing, the food is delicious, the games are plentiful and fun.
My biggest gripe is the smokey atmosphere, which is tolerable, but that's not necessarily the casino's fault, people will smoke! they do have a non-smoking section. I would lastly like to address the open 24 hour gripe that someone had. Really? That made you mad? Whatever.
Thanks for reading.
I was really taken back by my experience there. I had no fun at all. The reason was simple. Never ever did I push a button without automatically losing the bet for the most part. I put in $100 dollars and I think maybe for one moment it may have jumped to about $102 bucks but only for a moment the rest of the time it was just a gradual decline. I put in more money and more money and it did this every time. It was humiliating actually. I felt terrible after going there. I wanted to cry to be honest but it wasn't even worth crying for. I walked into it but I didn't know a casino could be this terrible. This really was horrible and sad. I will never ever go there again. I did feel like they just stole my money. In retrospect if I had the choice I would have rather that they stuck a gun to my head when I walked in the door so I wouldn't have wasted the time because I never had a chance. They have those machines so rigged it's just sad. I know they just built this big huge ugly parking lot so maybe they wanted so extra money so they didn't have to take that out of their own pockets or something but this was CHRISTMAS! I mean do you really have to be THAT greedy and gross on Christmas. They just robbed me blind. They truly did. It's a HORRIBLE PLACE. I will never return.
Vegas recognized years ago that if they were completely greedy they’d ruin long term business and they were smart to think this way because what happens is that if nobody ever really wins then people don’t have fun and they lose interest and don’t return. Unfortunately the owners of Clearwater are not quite bright enough to get this... I can only speak for myself and the people I know who have stopped going to Clearwater just for that reason. At the end of the day it’s boring to go there because they only take your money. It’s such a rinky dink operation and I think the owners are real backwoods folk and they just don’t know any better then to think “Hey let’s just take as much as we can.” The jackpots offered are really kind of laughable and I mean they actually make you laugh – It’s a thousand bucks here or a thousand and thirteen dollars there – It’s hilarious... Most people just laugh when they announce the jackpots. I guess I’d say that if Vegas was the Major Leagues of Casinos that Clearwater would be like a selfish greedy T-Ball level Casino. The staff is nice but whoever is running that operation is real rinky dink dumb and needs to get with the program.
You know I don't really like writing reviews. If I write them I generally only write good ones, but I'm making an exception because I feel obliged to say something in hopes of sparing someone from having to experience what I did. I am hoping at least one person will read this and not go to the Clearwater Casino because it's just unpleasant. I have to say most of the people walking out looked very unhappy and I can see why. The slots machines are not right. They are far from fun. YES you will LOSE. That's a given. It's HOW they have you lose that is so frustrating. You will never have a chance to see any of your money back. It's like they snap it out of your hand. These are the tightest slots I have ever seen. This was my worst casino experience by far. Slots are rumored to pay back as little as 72 per cent and I know the Natives don’t need to disclose the percentage and I suppose they wouldn't because the people would know better. Please do yourself a FAVOR & NEVER GO THERE because they TRULY will take your money. I am sorry that the owners feel such a need to be so excessively greedy. It's sad.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer. Sure, it's easy to just dismiss other reviews as people who had a bad day or who expected to walk out with a boatload of cash after pushing the same button 10,000 times. Until you visit the ClearWallet a few times. I've been quite a few times over the past three years, and it HAS been getting worse. The change to 24 hour operation was a major turning point in the "suck" factor. The payout has gotten less frequent and more weighted to big Jackpots. If you are a low to mid-level slot player, forget it. For example, on my visit last week, I watched 120.00 evaporate on .50 bets within an hour. No one else sat down nearby and cleaned out the network--we all lost. It's like tossing coins down a funnel and hoping a couple will defy gravity and fly back into your hand. I kept losing and losing, except for a short break from midnight to 2 AM. And I thought Emerald Queen and Muckleshoot was bad.
If you absolutely must get a slot machine fix without playing in the middle of the night, try joining Lucky Eagle's mailing club. At least you can get two free hotel rooms a month, enjoy the amenities during the evening fleecing of the regulars, and coming in and have a fighting chance in the morning hours.
