Come to this casino,2to 3 times a week, playing 25cent machines as well as 2 and 1 cent, spend a lot of money here, the slot play is ridculous, shamen on them, not getting gifts or buffet anymore, I am blowing more money than ever before and getting nothing for it, if it don't change I will not frequent Twin River anymore, friend feel the same, what gives??? The payouts suck, big time, Came here before it transformed to a full Casino, the payouts were great spending less money, I realize they had to pay for the new casino and now I guess the patrons are paying for the new hotel, unfair, better watch out for the competion when these new casinos open in Maa. and Boston. I hope they do, because I basically like coming to the River, its just so dissappointing, they could do better, thank youDissa

Smells like a filthy ashtray that has been left overfilled and never emptied or cleaned...from the minute you enter the north entrance where the buses park. You have to put on a gas mask to get to the back of the 1st level (smoking) to make your way upstairs to the nonsmoking area. Very bad. The smell makes its way upstairs to the hallways where the restaurants are. Stench. They need to spend on a new ventilation system. God knows they must have $ to do it. Slots don't pay out. Workers are nice but hoarse from breathing in the pollution. Spoke to a waitress about the hazards of working there. Hope it gets fixed. I would never go back.

First, let me start off by saying that I usually do not write reviews; I signed up for many websites just so I could share this miserable experience.

I am what casinos would call a high roller. I am a Soar cardholder at Mohegan Sun and have a comparable rank at Foxwoods. I do not mind having a nice relaxing time dropping $2000+ at blackjack knowing that I will at least be treated with respect by the dealers, pits, and other members of the staff. I do not require any entitlement, as I feel everyone is deserving of equal treatment in an environment where most are seeking entertainment.

I also do not look the part of "high roller"; I am in my late 20s, look like he can pass for 21, and usually wear my unassuming blue jeans and wool pea coat. I also do not like to be bothered and lack a phone by choice (I am one in a million), so I use a tablet PC to communicate via text instead of a phone, which I carry in a green handbag no larger than a woman's purse..

I was checking out the high limit blackjack tables at 7:30 pm on 3/25/2014 when a security guard named RON who ran over to me and said, and I quote, "Kid, the hell is in the bag!?!?!" I understood that he was trying to protect the safety of the casino, but how disrespectful can you be?

I replied, "I will show you, but don't you dare use that tone with me."

Apparently, that was too much for his puny ego, as he EJECTED me for this. No apology. In fact, he and the door guard (Frank) were laughing at me as I walked back to my car. I wish I could say there were more to the story, but nope. I got thrown out for being a weird-looking "kid" with a weird green handbag. RON even made sure to demean me when I mentioned that it was no different than a purse, suggesting I was "different"" for carrying one.

I intended to go to Twin River, potentially drop the $5000 I came with, and call it a night. Instead, I am sitting in my room at Mohegan posting this review to every website just to get a point across; they fail at the ONE aspect a casino must succeed at, make the customer feel WANTED. Ron gave me a night I will not soon forget, and i will make it my mission to spread it around Mohegan, Foxwoods, ATL City, and any internet site accepting this review.

Since I live only about 20 minutes from Twin River, I find it much easier to go there then to Foxwoods. I have NEVER hit it big at Twin River and I do like to think I am a pretty big spender. I would say my average bet is about $1.20 a spin on slots and around $10.00 a hand on video blackjack.

The point system there is junk. You only get 1 point for every $10.00 played. That is like getting a penny for ten dollars.

The ONLY good thing about Twin River is the casino hosts. They do what they can to make your trip there better. They have gave me comp tickets to shows, but that is about it. When it comes to giving free things, their hands are tied by the state.

When its all said and done, I say I give more to Twin River then they give to me. That shouldn't surprise anyone, but its very very uneven.

I have been going to Twin River for a few years now. The atmosphere is good, the restaurants are good...especially Wicked Good Restaurant, the bands are good, and sometimes they have some pretty cool bands at the Event Center. However, this is a state run Casino. When I first started going there a few years ago, the payouts were okay...pretty average for a slot parlor...win some-lose some. But as the months went by, it was VERY noticeable that something had been done to decrease the payouts. The machines at Twin River have become some of the tightest machines I have ever played. It really is too bad because it can be a fun atmosphere...but the fun goes out the window when the machines so rarely pay out anything. One cannot help but believe that the prospect of new full-scale casinos going up in Massachusetts soon has caused Twin River to tighten up. When those casinos are built, say goodbye to Twin River...unless of course they make it a full-scale casino.

So my recommendation? Go for the food, the bands, and the drinks...but unless you are walking around with a big ole' horseshoe up your butt, STAY AWAY from the slots! If you really want to make a donation to the state, save yourself some time and drop off your donation to the Rhode Island Division of Taxation! :)
