First, let me start off by saying that I usually do not write reviews; I signed up for many websites just so I could share this miserable experience.

I am what casinos would call a high roller. I am a Soar cardholder at Mohegan Sun and have a comparable rank at Foxwoods. I do not mind having a nice relaxing time dropping $2000+ at blackjack knowing that I will at least be treated with respect by the dealers, pits, and other members of the staff. I do not require any entitlement, as I feel everyone is deserving of equal treatment in an environment where most are seeking entertainment.

I also do not look the part of "high roller"; I am in my late 20s, look like he can pass for 21, and usually wear my unassuming blue jeans and wool pea coat. I also do not like to be bothered and lack a phone by choice (I am one in a million), so I use a tablet PC to communicate via text instead of a phone, which I carry in a green handbag no larger than a woman's purse..

I was checking out the high limit blackjack tables at 7:30 pm on 3/25/2014 when a security guard named RON who ran over to me and said, and I quote, "Kid, the hell is in the bag!?!?!" I understood that he was trying to protect the safety of the casino, but how disrespectful can you be?

I replied, "I will show you, but don't you dare use that tone with me."

Apparently, that was too much for his puny ego, as he EJECTED me for this. No apology. In fact, he and the door guard (Frank) were laughing at me as I walked back to my car. I wish I could say there were more to the story, but nope. I got thrown out for being a weird-looking "kid" with a weird green handbag. RON even made sure to demean me when I mentioned that it was no different than a purse, suggesting I was "different"" for carrying one.

I intended to go to Twin River, potentially drop the $5000 I came with, and call it a night. Instead, I am sitting in my room at Mohegan posting this review to every website just to get a point across; they fail at the ONE aspect a casino must succeed at, make the customer feel WANTED. Ron gave me a night I will not soon forget, and i will make it my mission to spread it around Mohegan, Foxwoods, ATL City, and any internet site accepting this review.

For at least a full year, my boyfriend and I went to Twin River every single week. I did so-so, my boyfriend did a little better. During this time we got little to no free play, which was not very good marketing strategy in my opinion, especially for people like us who were going weekly. Nevertheless, we went because we enjoy it. March 2012 was the last time we went. We started going to Newport Grand and I was hitting 80% more than at TR. And we also are receiving lots of free play.
We recently got $10.00 of free play at TR and decided to go hoping the slots would be a little looser. Saturday night we went and let me tell you, we could not have done worse. Very few bonus rounds and the ones I did get into paid peanuts. I got into Madame X and got 10 free spins and won a whole 80 cents. Are you kidding me? That is just wrong. I played a full $10.00 on Jungle Wild and not one spin gave me a win. NOTHING. We both threw our players cards in the trash and vowed never to go back.
We left TR and went to NG and did much better. As a Massachusetts resident we only have TR, NG, Foxwoods and Mohegan to go to that is nearby. But soon we will have our own casinos and I predict you will lose many, many patrons...you better loosen up those slots. Even if you get gaming tables, you're going to lose a lot of money to Massachusetts if you don't loosen up a little.
Twin River will not see me again, I don't care how much free play they send me. I'm done!

The river has not changed its course. Never have I experienced such a disgusting place, the bathrooms are epic in the amounts of filth and sadly the slots area is not much better, but it is darker if that makes you comfortable. Trying to find help to reload paper or fix some minor issue is excruciatingly long, on a main isle I waited 35 mins before help arrived, then they were rude, like it was my fault they had to break up their conversation and work. Like many i find the lack of cashiers and constant 'out of service' of the cash machines frustrating. It is hard to comment on the restaraunts and retail they go out of business so fast. Promotions are horrible, which I find to be the norm at most casinos, but here they are even worse perhaps if you cycle two to three thousand dollars thru the slots, next month you can buy yourself an ice cream cone, sorry if you want a sundae come back in a couple months. Having seen every contest run by this place I would advise you not to waste gas to attend, somehow they find a way to cheapen and degrade the experience that you knew was next to impossible to win, but should have some entertainment value, and they piss you off. This place is going to fold or become a gentleman's club as soon as MA opens up their casinos and that seems to be the rumored speculation why the payoff are so bad here. So if you go, go to listen to a band in a nice smokey old school way, play a slot for fun try to find a decent video poker machine, just kidding they don't have decent video poker. Most importantly, eat before you go and make sure to use the restrooms at a highway truck stop because you don't want to go here.

this place is a dump and will be turned into a parking lot once Massachusetts gets casinos. i can't wait because the people that work there treat you like a second class citizen even though you pay their salaries while they stand around and bust your balls while you lose your money.

Twin River is a pseudo casino.

There are no Table games, No poker tables and No free alcoholic beverages. Coffee and soda are free.
There is video poker, blackjack and roulette. No need to tip your video host.

Their comp point system is a joke, a PENNY a point, not like Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun where it's a $1 a point.
We have never built up enough points for a free meal even though we go several times a year because it's only 15 minutes from our
house in Cumberland. Their points expire too. they don't roll over like Foxwoods and Mohegan.
We go to Foxwoods 3-4 times a year and eat FREE every time. They offer us FREE hotels rooms, and show tickets frequently.

Their "event center" is like a big gym, bleachers and fold out metal chairs.

They got rid of live greyhound racing AFTER spending a fortune to remodel the para mutuel area. good planning.
