I live in the area and visit this place often. I find that the slots are very very tight. I would prefer the quarter or dollar machines but the design is poor. They have way too many lines. If you're playing a $1 machine, it doesn't need to have 10+ lines for a max play. Even the penny machines you will find yourself playing $3-12 a spin depending on the machine. I haven't hit a jackpot in 2 years which is crazy how much I go there, max jackpot in the last 10 years that I've was $1,200 with two $1,000 before that. I average 2-3 visits a week and was platinum player which is going down as I slow down going and soon quit. Free play is a joke, they don't really provide any good free play anymore and if you actually hit something on it, even a hundred or so then consider yourself very very lucky. Promotions aren't that great and never won anything to comment on those except I don't know how I could not win a single thing in 10+ years going there.
The waitresses aren't the best and quickest but I find that they are all polite and typically smiling. If you don't go to the bar for your own beer, you may not get one. I find the average wait time is 20-70 mins to get a drink and don't even do the free beer which is a shame. I've left because I couldn't get service numerous times. I've received free beer vouchers that I couldn't use because you can't use at the bar because you need to be gambling to use and back to the waitress issues. It's a catch 22.
The tables are nice, I prefer the $5-10 tables but very hard to find. Even the $5 texas hold em turns into a $20 table quickly if you want to see the flop which you always should there.
The food is average. Food court; pizza is great and think it packs a flavor punch. Usually out of pep pizza so need to grab a couple slices of something else. The Stromboli isn't that great, has the flavor but mostly dough. 12" Stromboli is 7 inches of straight dough. The burger place have great burgers, I've only done the single and double stacker but they were delicious. The buffet should just be skipped if you're thinking about it. You're better off eating anywhere else. The buffet is expensive and not very much to choose from along with no flavor. I advised the desserts were frozen and looked like mold was on a couple pieces, waitress just walked away without acknowledgement, she wasn't a good/polite waitress and the tip reflected it. I usually tip 20-25% but she didn't get a great tip, I felt bad but never mad at a waitress like her before.
I find the customer service is typically polite and decent, as long as you're not waiting on someone. Refer back to waitresses or could take a while to get a slot tech. I find if you have an issue with a machine to get someone there within 10-20 mins, just press the service button on every machine around you. They hate it but better than waiting 30-40 mins.
Atmosphere is typical, depending on the people there. I've had people steal and attempt to steal my money before. Once I walked away from a machine and forgot $5 voucher on it. Was about 20 feet away and turned around to find a guy playing the machine with my voucher gone, contacted security and was told would take about 4-5 hours to research and get the results which I needed to be there for it. Yeah, I'll stay and spend $500-1,000 more dollars to try and get my money back. He laughed at me and told me owell, I was about to beat him but then I would get arrested. Another time, a lady sat at my machine and started playing my money when I walked to through away garbage. Argued with me that she'll just keep the money and I could have the machine, I contacted security and they took the voucher and brought me my portion of the money. You need to be cautious about scum bags there like any other place and the casino doesn't always have your back.
Thats why I'll be going from Platinum to Silver and eventually just say owell and start going other places. I tried to touch up on all subjects and hope this helps you out, visit or avoid, I tried to stay neutral.
This is a good looking casino, thanks to all of us that donated. They should thank us all, instead for me i get rewarded 5 or 10 dollars a week in freeplay with a gold card near platinum status. They are awful on freeplay. If you go to Wheeling they comp you with free buffets and free hotels and LOTS MORE IN FREE PLAY.
The smoking areas are set up weird. I have NEVER WON MORE THAN $1,000 up there and no joke i have been up there almost EVERYDAY since the tent opened up and put LOTS of money up there and they are very tight on their freeplay.
I put 1,000 dollars up there this month and got 10 dollars in free play and i have a gold card which states 500 dollars a month. I HAVE NEVER GOT NOWHERE NEAR THAT. I guess they give it to who they know and like along with the jackpots.
I have done WAY better at Wheeling including a 10,000 dollar jackpot down at wheeling in 2003. I am now looking forward to bringing my business back to wheeling. The meadows does have a nice looking casino, but that is about it.
The pizza is good though and is reasonably priced, but every time i complain about my freeplay to the players club they tell me there is a glitch in their computers, something with the matrix. I think they just have it out for me, but I'm no longer worried about it because WHEELING AND MOUNTAINEER HERE I COME. Plus, in W.V the 5 dollar machines max bet is only 5 bucks instead of 10 and 15 dollars. Also, west virginia's 5 dollar machines hit better anyway.
Good luck to the rest of you and i strongly suggest wheeling or mountaineer over the meadows and wheeling now has help yourself on the drinks which is nice.....WHEELING HERE I COME!
been going to the meadows for years and its so bad there i am not even going to go there anymore .if you want to have fun and have a real chance of winning goto the rivers casino. look this place has replaced most of the slots with penny machines that will just eat up all your money and pay nothing. having a host there is a joke unless you just want a free meal once in a blue moon..look they have become so cheap the dont even have tissue to wipe your nose in the bathroom and paper towels to wipe your hands forget it.. they have none.oh and real sugar for your coffee nope liquid suger crap ..and it also seems like more and more machines are broken some buttons or screens or they just break and you get to wait for someone for a half an hour to come fix it ...even if your a high roller this place doesnt give you crap...ur best bet is goto the rivers i know this bacuse ive been a high roller in both places and the rivers treats people so much better..and will give your more freeplay all the time or save up and goto anywhere in vegas..either one of those places will treat you far better .the meadows is like the motel 8 of casnios ..only go there if you plan to waste a few hours chasing your own money then lose but hey maybe theyll send you 10 bucks in freeplay ...the worst part is you probably think i am kidding but its all true....bad place to go
One of the worst experiences ever. Every single machine a LOSER..Took family for a day out , hell of a day. never ever, ever will I visit this wanna be casino??? Take my advice when in PA just keep driving.
