I'm wondering if I can claim Mount Airy as a dependent on my taxes seeing as how I only give them money and get nothing in return? When the casino first opened up a few years ago the payouts were not bad. Now they're practically non-existent. How is it possible to get 40 free games with a maximum bet and end up getting back less than $20? I don't know but I've done it. Many times. In fact, I haven't won anything over $100 in the last several years despite receiving many free games. All the machines are paying out small amounts to nothing at all (it's a real thrill to win 10 free games and end up with $5.60). I've seen greed kill many businesses in the Poconos and we're about to see another fall from the same cause. Mt. Airy is a greedy casino, plain and simple. They've forgotten how to, or don't care to, give back to the people who keep the money rolling in.
Where do I begin? Been going to My Airy since it opened several years ago. It was almost a guarantee to hit one hand pay every Friday night. Problem is that I would give it all back within 7 hours later. I haven't hit $100, let alone a hand pay since Feb. 2013. Absolutely ridiculous and time for the PAGC to audit this casino.
Slots tight??? Tighter than you can imagine. Like a sucker been coming back each week dropping $500-1000 a week, haven't won a dollar since Feb! Went to Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs and hit a progressive on my first visit. Based on these reviews, I will try the Beth Sands.
The restaurants are horrible, the buffet a joke. Watered down drinks filled with ice. Small, loud blasting music, completely unenjoyable. MT Airy, you tightened your slot payouts, you decreased your comping, you dropped to a ridiculous amount the total of cash back given...you just lost a long-term customer...GREAT JOB!
Warning.... Do Not play at this Casino. The slots are definitely tight. Avoid "Wheel of Fortune" 1.00 machine. Every time I got a free spin it landed on $25.00. Staff is rude. No customer service. Food is poor. Tables...too crowded and no one wins. Dealers unfriendly. Overall, don't waste your time and money.
Went there this Friday the 5th with a group of people that go to other casinos several times a month and are almost Pro's at the tables, and decided to go to Mt Airy to try this casino and drove from NY to PA, This place is beautiful, I felt a lil pep in my step and went strait to slots...for 2days with no sleep, never won no more than .30, .20 and a big whopping $6.00 and the machine took it all back and more of my money...i thought that was normal until I found out that NO ONE EVER won big on the slots in that casino! scared the hell out of me!...We went to the tables, and out of 8 people who usually win when they spend big money, NO ONE won at all and made BIG losses!! 25+ dollars to get in play at the tables are way too much and lose faster, and I asked a dealer have people won big here, she said, SOMETIMES! we were like OMG!!! we never had a chance!! we went to the Sands and we saw a lot of asians (when you don't see them, get worried!! there were none at Mt Airy) We were winning like crazy there but didn't have enough time to recoup our losses from Mt Airy! Mt Airy is beautiful, but it's really hard to win there...if you're a REAL gambler, you'll know something doesn't feel right! We will never gamble there again!
