Am a life time Oregon resident and over the past 20 years have played at all the Indian casinos in Oregon. NEVER have I walked out with more money than I entered with and I am NOT a careless or wild gambler! I set a limit and than go home. I have played the same bank of machines at Indian Head every time I go, for 9 years now, and after thousands of spins, have never gotten the Jackpot payline or seen anyone else get it. I doubt that the machines pay above a 60% rate.
reviews on food need to taken down from before they separated from ka-nee-ta resort - the food in the cafe is mediocre and overpriced - but avoid the cottonwood buffet - esp the seafood buffet - which for 19.99 was an embarrassment .. all of 5 items, extremely low quality crab legs, rest of food was grocery store quality store bought rolls, bag salad, and should not be called a buffet.. the pie was inedible.. no service - probably embarrassed to come ask.. since it was a repeat promotion - thought stupidly that it was popular.. no line should have been a warning.. the players club drawings are rigged.. at midnight have to be there to win.. - all the local indians come in and put in stacks of preprinted tickets into the drum at the last minutes before the drawing.. we went two times and not one prize went to a non indian.. they own it - they get the rewards.. another waste of time- travel.
This is such a fun getaway for us. It is so "out there" with no other visible structures or light pollution at night outside, but the happy, smokey, casino atmosphere inside.
Too bad it is non-smoking upstairs since smoke rises. Love the hot springs swimming pool and the views from the rooms. Rumor has it they are starting the club card in March 2010.
It is a 3 hour drive we called the players club three times to see if they had our favorite slots on the floor. each time to be directed to a nasty person named K******y who put us on hold and didn't return.....was rude and unpleasant....then just hung up. we wont waste the time to go!
Unfortunately, the Warm Spring Indians do not put money back into their casino. Of the times I've been there, there are always many slot machines down/not working. Their snack bar in the casino is all frozen, low end snacks. Compared to the other (indian) casinos in Oregon, this is the poorest.
