WOW! How does this place stay open? Let 's back up a bit here. First, we didn't lose any money here. We actually broke even. That's because of the 4 machines we sat down at we had to call for a slot technician to come pull our money out. The machines are broken.
We then went to try a few hands at the tables. Have you ever heard of a sweat shop? Not much playing or fun going on here. It took the dealer 3 tries to count our chips back to us correctly. Maybe he was new, but we didn't want to take the chance of playing blackjack with someone who can't count.
Then we thought we would get something to eat. We paid for the buffet. It smelled pretty good from the line. Big mistake...the food was all overcooked, dry, and it looked like it was from the day before. We asked for our money back and they said no. We left and will never be back.
Did I mention how dirty it is in there. Our recommendation: Don't waste your time and money, just drive on by!
My family and I went to this casino in an RV. Parked in the RV parking area....when we decided to leave to go find a place to eat and stay, two cars had totally blocked us in and the casino wouldn't do anything about it. We waited at least two hours, and the casino wouldn't even offer us any food. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!!
we have been going to chinook winds for a few years now, maybe twice a year, the hotel needs some work, but we always have a lot of fun at the casino, I've had to pay uncle sam almost every year playing slots, the food up on the top floor at the
Rogue River has always been great, we just watched the ducks game, would have been better if they had won, the bathrooms are always clean, and there is always someone going around dusting machines, everyone has been very nice, after reading some of the other reviews I felt it only right to put in my two cents.
If Chinook Winds is as bad as other reviews suggest, why is the parking lot always full? Why is it necessary to call several weeks ahead to get a reservation? We've been going to Chinook Winds for years and enjoy the combination of being at the beach and playing in the casino. Join their Players Club and you'll get great offers on rooms including the chance to upgrade to a suite for $20 more. Their buffet is so so but food at Chinook Winds Grille opposite the office is quite good. The staff is friendly; free rewards are plentiful; and the sound of jackpots being won is always in the air.
Chinook Winds was once the best casino to play at. The payouts were good and you could actually get to play on your money for several hours. Not any more....they have become another greedy casino that cannot even grant an occasional jackpot. Chinooks Winds is #2 for worst in Oregon.
