I love going to Winstar. I don't go as much as I use to. I see some of these reviews and see people complaining that they don't win. Yes I do get upset as well when I don't win but casino is going to always have the upper hand. If you play penny slots, you may only win $20 or $30 on a bonus. If you play penny slots and are only betting 60cents, thinking you are going to hit for hundreds of dollars is unrealistic. I play $5- $25 bets. I have also won 7 jackpots in 1 day. Yes that does not always happen, but the higher the amount you play, the more chance of winning some real money will happen.

I've been going to Winstar since it was a bingo parlor. A LONG time. They used to pay a reasonable number of hand pays on slots. I used to win 3 or 4 every year. I haven't won one since January 2015. Their payback sucks. I used to go there too often but it was common to see 6 or 8 people getting paid for a big win in a few hours. Now, you can go every day for 6 hours and never see a payout. Winstar loves to say the machines don't belong to them and they don't set the paybacks. I believe them. They rent the floor space to 3rd parties and take a percentage of the take. So complaint to them is useless. Their comps are a joke. I lost over $1,000 there one night using my players card and they wouldn't comp a meal at Panda Express. In Oklahoma, the casinos don't even have to report their yearly earnings. As you drive down the highway, throw a couple hundred dollars out the window and keep going. You're going to lose it anyway. The only winners are in the high rollers rooms where they play $25 and $100 machines. Even when they win, God knows how much they've spent.

I only play video poker, a game of skill, and wouldn't enjoy mindlessly pressing buttons on the Class II slots. But video poker players should avoid the Winstar. They have only one bank of combined video poker/keno machines in the huge casino, and it's difficult to find a spot at those. That's the good news. The bad news is the stinking payouts, 7 on a full house, 5 on a flush, worst I've seen in the state. Plus comp points tally more slowly on video poker than on the other slots. We went there once, finding the free buffet to be quite good, but we'll never return until they make their video poker pay tables competitive.

The rooms are nice, the concerts are good if you pay for close seats, they have a variety of places to eat and free sodas/coffee in the casino. The machines are tight but it is gambling so be prepared to lose what you take. Players club is nice and take advantage of free rooms. We have fun when we go but it's just for entertainment and don't expect to get rich!

I am elite card holder at Winstar & have been going for years. Ever since I received elite status, I have not been treated like elite. My room is never ready until 5:00 or later, (not a special room, just a normal one) while I watch others check in with no problems. While waiting on my room, returning to check in at the time they told me to come back, they gave my room to someone else. This happens frequently. This last time, they lost my reservations while I was checking in, someone deleted it. It took 2 hours to resolve the problem. I know you will win some & lose some, but my last 5 visits, I didn't win at all, not even money to play on. The last trip up there for new years was so bad I have decided not to return there ever again. I have researched the casinos in Oklahoma now & was shocked on what they get away with. They can watch you play & control your machine, by what I read. They are 1 in 4 that does that.
They give good comps, & special VIP incentives, but I finally figured out you pay for that. It's a fun place as long as you stay anonymous, I learned the hard way. As for getting anymore of my money, they won't see me again!
