I have been going to Winstar since the beginning of Winstar. Back when it was just a tent on the side of i35. Back when they actually gave you comps, back when the dealers were nice to you because they were able to keep their tips, back before the major expansion and the change in behavior of the staff and management. What it boils down to is this, every time they send me coupons for a free room I call to reserve the room they act like I am an inconvenience to them, they are not friendly to me and they never, ever, ever, ever have a room, EVER! Like last night for instance, I approached the check in desk and asked with a smile on my face "what are the chances of there being any availability for this evening?". The woman says to me "So, you don't have a reservation"? and I said to her no, I do not, and she says "well, you'll have to go over to the vip desk". She was the least bit friendly to me, did not smile, and treated me as if I was an inconvenience to her, just like when I call them on the phone. So, I go across the room to the VIP desk, I stand at the Please wait here sign and I observe no other guest in this room, three employees looking like they are working so hard at something on their computers and again look at me as if "oh great, someone else who is going to ruin my night", finally the woman says to me can I help you, and I walked up with a big smile on my face and politely ask "what are the chances of me getting a room for tonight? She says, let me check and proceeded to type on her computer, she then says to me "I have a room available for $269.00", I asked if my rewards card will help with the price and she looks at me as if she was thinking to herself "just great. or you wish", and says to me "no, it doesn't change the price". So, I said let me call my wife and ask her if she wants the room. Of course my wife did not want to spend that much money for one night.
So, again I struck out on getting a room at Winstar World Casino and Resort. I swear, it's almost as if they do not want guest to stay at their hotel. Why on earth would they treat people so rudely when the people they are treating this way are there to spend their hard earned money in the casino? Had they given me a room last night I would have spent the entire night at the casino gambling. My wife would have stayed at the black jack tables until 4 am like she does when we are welcomed at the Horseshoe Casino in Shreveport Bosier City La. and I would have played the slots all night long. Why would they not want us to spend our money with them? We ended up playing cards, a few slots, ate dinner at Toby Keiths (cold food) bar and grill and then hit the road back home to Grapevine around 10:30 so we could be home by midnight. Had they given us a room we would just now be leaving the casino today by 11 am to be home by noon, not midnight. Winstar, you guys make me want to drive the 3 hours to the Horseshoe Casino so that I can feel like I am a welcomed guest, a valuable customer, someone who they treat with respect, just like you guys used to do back in 2004, back when you would at least give my wife and I a free meal to Stone Ranch, or a free Buffet, back when you guys acted like you cared about your customers. I feel now you have gotten too big for your own good and have forgotten who helped you get to the size that you are now in the first place, the Texans who live south of your Red River. I think next time I will drive east and cross the Red River into Shreveport

I have been going to winstar for about 5 years and have had a great time every time until this last year. overall for last year i walked away 3000.00 ahead. However, i have lost 8 times that amount in only 8 months. There payOff has dissapeared... the machine might give you 200 but only after youve lost 4-500. I had an envelope with 900.00 left in it and as i was walking to the hotel room, the envelope came out of my pocket. This was my fault of course but, everytime i look up... Im constantly reminded that Im being watched by thousands of cameras... So, I ran to the secuirty office and talked to the supervisor... i showed him the exact places I had been so he could pull the cameras up and see what happened with the money. about 2 hours later... He notified me that he would keep checking it out but couldnt find anything. Then... i found out that he closed out his report and that it couldnt be found. Thats funny... especially considering how observant there attendants are to how you play on there machines and such...

I guess that with all the loosing just kind of hit me wrong... They have stopped sending as much complimentary cards in the mail...

on this trip... playing quarter machines, I quickly lost over 400.00
On the dollar machines,,, I lost 500.00 in about 30 minutes
and on the other machines.. I lost about 1400
if your going to play for a long period... Only bet 1 line at one penny and hope that you havent gone through a 20 with in 20 minutes
This place has gotten very rediculous and quite tight... If you happen to pass by... You might notice the new hotel and constant growth of everything from the inside to the out. none of this would be possible without money... Your money and mine is Building this soon to be... largest US Casino.
Also, I did read several of these reviews and the few that are positive, look like they were written by the winstar publicity department.

I have played here since the casino opened. Last year, I had the best year ever on the slots. I saw a LOT of people hitting large hand pay jackpots. Since about the first of November 2013, that has changed dramatically. I see very few hand pays and when I do, it's for right barely over the $1,200 threshold that requires a hand pay. Yes I'm not there every day, but I do go 2 to 3 times a week. In all, I have seen about 6 large payouts in the past 3+ months. I would see twice that many in an evening before this started.
I remember before, if you played one of the VGT $25 machines, and you got re-spin bonuses, you would hit a jackpot almost each time from $2,000 to $10,000. You're lucky right now on the re-spins if you get 2 cherries on a re-spin bonus. I heard 2 other ladies that pumped $1,000 into two $25 machines last time comment they both got jackpots. I went and looked and one was $1,250 and the other $1,325. That's VERY low for that machine. They both commented how low the casino has been paying out lately too.
I know quite a few of the "regulars" from the high stakes rooms have already quit going up here. I'm guessing they were tired of bleeding money for no chance of a return. WinStar needs to re-evaluate their reasoning behind their current practices before they lose a lot of their high end business. I'm not saying they need to pay big money to everyone that comes in but at least BE FAIR ABOUT IT.
For those that think they have no control over the way the machines pay, don't be so naïve and read a little from the machine manufacturers. Every machine in there is controlled by a computer system accounting program. They can set everything from the frequency of a bonus round to percentage of payout returns. The only thing they cannot do is change it while you are currently using it. Look sometimes and you'll find one that says "LOCKED BY ACCOUNTING". That means it's currently being updated with a change for better or worse and then it has to sit idle for a certain amount of time before it'll let you play it again.

Since I'm apparently on a rant, we'll never see casinos in Texas now that it has gotten to be so big in OK. The Indian nations pay BIG money to certain Texas senators and congressmen to keep them from EVER voting on a change in the law. Just check if you don't believe me. Every gambling bill for the past 8 years has DIED IN COMMITTEE. That's how they keep things from ever being voted on. Talk about corruption!

Happy gambling everyone!! :-)

Me and my fiancée went there yesterday to play and have some fun. We started to play this machine and hit our first bonus ($1300). First we were waiting about 45 min before somebody helped us and even then it took about another 40 min to get our money. While they were bringing our money, we won another bonus ($2000). When customer service representative brought us first money, somehow my fiancée's paperwork did not match her other one, because one of the employees took her information incorrectly. So, we had to wait for Supervisor to assist us. Took her another 40 min to come, and we were told that we are not going to get our money, because paperwork is not matching, even though it was their fault because on the first receipt all the info is correct. Supervisor was extremely rude to both of us. After about 15 min of discussion she left us to bring somebody else. Waiting another 50 min, another supervisor showed up, and told us since the paperwork is incorrect we have to pay 32% taxes to casino, and we have to come another day to be able to get the money we won. We won second bonus $2,000 and they are willing to give us only $950. We still did not get our money. Two supervisors told us it only takes 24-48 hours for check to be ready, but when we call we were told it is 7-10 business days. Last 3 years we were coming to this place with our friends, family and coworkers and left much more money then we won, and we would never expect to be treated like that. Once we get our money, we are not going back there. It fills like when you lose money, it's ok, but when you win that when you have starting having problems. We won total of $3300 and Casino took $1060. Me and my fiancé are not going there anymore and we tell our friends and family about this bad experience.

This place is a huge ripoff. I have played there off and on for four years and have NEVER won a jackpot. The most I ever won here was four years ago and it was for 1199.00, just under the 1200 max before they have to report to the IRS... Coincidence? I have never even gotten close to winning that amount since and I typically play with 300 to 500 when I go. The last time was 2/26/2012 and I went with 3 other friends...ALL of us lost.. That was the last time I will go to this casino. Texas needs to vote in gaming and watch that huge ripoff casino dry up and blow away...
