I have played here since the casino opened. Last year, I had the best year ever on the slots. I saw a LOT of people hitting large hand pay jackpots. Since about the first of November 2013, that has changed dramatically. I see very few hand pays and when I do, it's for right barely over the $1,200 threshold that requires a hand pay. Yes I'm not there every day, but I do go 2 to 3 times a week. In all, I have seen about 6 large payouts in the past 3+ months. I would see twice that many in an evening before this started.
I remember before, if you played one of the VGT $25 machines, and you got re-spin bonuses, you would hit a jackpot almost each time from $2,000 to $10,000. You're lucky right now on the re-spins if you get 2 cherries on a re-spin bonus. I heard 2 other ladies that pumped $1,000 into two $25 machines last time comment they both got jackpots. I went and looked and one was $1,250 and the other $1,325. That's VERY low for that machine. They both commented how low the casino has been paying out lately too.
I know quite a few of the "regulars" from the high stakes rooms have already quit going up here. I'm guessing they were tired of bleeding money for no chance of a return. WinStar needs to re-evaluate their reasoning behind their current practices before they lose a lot of their high end business. I'm not saying they need to pay big money to everyone that comes in but at least BE FAIR ABOUT IT.
For those that think they have no control over the way the machines pay, don't be so naïve and read a little from the machine manufacturers. Every machine in there is controlled by a computer system accounting program. They can set everything from the frequency of a bonus round to percentage of payout returns. The only thing they cannot do is change it while you are currently using it. Look sometimes and you'll find one that says "LOCKED BY ACCOUNTING". That means it's currently being updated with a change for better or worse and then it has to sit idle for a certain amount of time before it'll let you play it again.

Since I'm apparently on a rant, we'll never see casinos in Texas now that it has gotten to be so big in OK. The Indian nations pay BIG money to certain Texas senators and congressmen to keep them from EVER voting on a change in the law. Just check if you don't believe me. Every gambling bill for the past 8 years has DIED IN COMMITTEE. That's how they keep things from ever being voted on. Talk about corruption!

Happy gambling everyone!! :-)

After reading your review I'm not going. Sounds like they started taking customers for granted. Others have confirmed your feeling about few payouts. I hope we will get casinos here in TEXAS in the future, but there's too much money being made by the lottery in TX. Casinos would cut into those easy windfall profits for the state. So I guess I'll go back to Vegas or try the LA riverboat thing. Thanks for your opinion. RR
