As a friequent visitor I know the odds of winning or losing. However, last night turned into an absolute horriffic nightmare! After ab otherwise pleasant evening with my wife, low and behold my name was called for the last drawing of the evening, unfortunately I was at the oposite corner of the casino, not knowing for sure where to go I went to the nearest players club, It was in the NE corner of the casino, I asked the girl where do I go, she said to the South end. I asked her to call and tell them I was on the way, (I am a handicapped Vet and unable to run like a 25 year old.) When I got there they said "to late,"we already called the next name! They claim they never got the call. After checking back with the person who called I am told she called the wrong person who was then going to run over to the promotion desk and tell them I was on the way. ( I don't think she did) Again later I'm told the girl which made the call was new and inexperienced, therefore she called wrong place. I asked to speak to the floor manager, he was nice, even went to his superior, ultimately I was offered a free night in the hotel and 2 free buffets! A very small offer considering the drawing was for $2500.00. I was told they followed the rules to a tee, doing nothing wrong, it was my fault I was late! Well in my opinion, if they had properly trained the new girl this would all be a mute point. They discriminate against the elderly and handicapped! I refused the free night and buffets, I also turned in our players club cards and filled out the forms to be removed from their mailing lists! It will be a "COLD day in Hell" before I go back to Riverwind! 3 minutes is not enough time for a handicapped or elderly person to respond to a drawing! I still may persue an attorney!
My advice is find a better place to spend your money! This expierience has left me Very Disappointed in what I previously thought was a reputable place!

Riverwind is a reputable place. In my opinion, disabled vet or not, if you can't make yourself available for the drawing then you shouldn't get upset if you're name gets bypassed. So let me get this straight ... His night was going great and would have probably given the casino five stars but because he lost out on $2500.00 it's suddenly the worst casino around. Does everyone get the issue here?

This is why people congregate in the area of the drawing right before it happens, most of us even get there early. I always find out where, and make sure I'm there for the drawing. I also am a disabled vet, but if the rules say I must be there in three minutes, for me to be there, I need to be there before the drawing. I've told them the drawing actually cost them money, as I can't be playing if I have to be waiting to hear my name called in the drawing area. I only play VP, and only the good payout machines.

So I, as well as probably the entire 100+ or so people hanging around to hear our name called, think if you had done as we do, knowing the rules and our handicaps, you would have collected $2500. Instead, one of us that followed the rules collected the money. I would say that this casino went above and beyond what they should have done, giving you a free hotel stay, when you didn't follow the rules but wanted to collect anyway.
