Open, clean "LasVega"-style casino with table games. Complimentary soft drink dispensers. Slot machine payouts are decent, esp. over their local competitor ESD. Though, weekend slot play not so fruitful (to low-rollers, at least). Overall, not a bad casino.
Hollywood casino in Columbus Oh is really a nice place. I very much enjoy the atmosphere, and YES the mold smell is gone!! They have uped their game in customer service, quality of food and have nice rotations of slot machines. Some table levels have dropped a bit, but not much, however there are machines to play table games at a lower min. if $1 tables and $5 tables are your thing. The players club is nicely run with weekly comps and gratitude's, and monthly specials galore for winning free slot play, cars, vacation and CASH!! Not sure what happened to change this place around, but I for one, love this place and enjoy coming for the slots and freeplay giveaways!

My wife and I have been going to casinos all over the country for about 40 years. We were happy that Ohio finally got casinos so we didn't have to travel very far. We've been going to the Hollywood and Scioto Downs in Columbus from the first day they opened. We've averaged going to these casinos about 2 or 3 times per week. The slots seemed to play OK, not great, for the first 3 years they we're open. Then at the end of 2015 we noticed that the slots played a little differently. We talked with many people who we saw frequently at the casinos and many of them noticed the difference too. One day I was talking with a lady about the casinos and she mentioned that her fiancee was in management at Hollywood and he told her that Hollywood and the other casinos did lower their pay out percentage at the end of 2015. I have been trying to convince my wife that it is not in our best interest to continue to go to Hollywood or Scioto Downs anymore, but we are senior citizens and this is her entertainment. These places would have close their doors if it wasn't for senior citizens. They are ripping off seniors. My recommendation is that everybody should stay away from these places until they raise their pay out rate. They are nothing but HIGH PRICED VIDEO ARCADES FOR ADULTS.
Regular patrons and populace are waking up to the fact that Hollywood casinos are a bad deal. The slots are so tight that it is abusive greed; Hollywood casino has taken advantage of the people of Ohio. Why has such manipulation and low slot payout been allowed to happen? After years of tight, never-paying slots, the gig is up Hollywood. People are no longer going. Your casinos are pretty empty now and it's because you stole from slot players for years, those who thought they were getting a fair game but we're playing slots set at the minimum payout allowed. This is not what Ohio citizens expected or deserve.
