The grounds around the casino are nice, we stayed at the lodge which was excellent, The casino politely said, "sucks". I go to a casino to win money, yes money, not a car wash, not a roast beef sandwich.or a set of carving knives.Just can't win here,Hundreds of bucks into the same slot and it will pay nothing, Free play is just that, I get 5 100 dollar vouchers a month to play, they all go to "o"without a win.A gimmick to get you in the door and take your money. My losses for 2015-2016 are $64000, with one $1100 win. Stay away. A new casino is opening up about 60 miles away from Turning Stone in February. You know the slots will be loose for a while to build a customer base. Start going there and forget about Turning Stone, They shot themselves in the foot with their greed.
I have been attending Turning Stone since late 2010. Vernon Downs is just five minutes away. Don't stop at Turning Stone. You will regret it, go directly to Vernon. While the food is not as good, the slots are 100% better payoffs, and you will feel much better about yourself. In the past five year I have never had a big win. Oh I usually play the penny slots, but I have seen one person win big on the penny slots, but that is far and in between. 99% of the people I have spoken to about Turning State say one thing, don't do!
I have been playing at Turning Stone for many years. Take my advice and skip this casino. The changes over the last few years have been awful. Payouts are at bare minimum and if you are lucky to get a bonus on a slot game, they don't pay anything. All you hear from the slot patrons on the gaming floor is how terrible the machines are. You cannot have fun. Nothing but frustration and an empty wallet. Food is average. Most staff at retail shops and restaurants are robotic, never super friendly. But they don't pay their staff anything either so understandable. As for us, our new hangout is the opposite way on the thruway. Good bye turning stone.
I have been going to TS since late 2010. I won on the slots the first time. Since then and a great deal of people who go there will attest, the slots do not pay. It use to be you would hear, "We have a Winner" over the loud speakers, but that died away a long time ago. Now you may hear it once a week. I have stayed in the Tower, the Hotel and the nearby Inn that TS owns. I prefer the Hotel. The rooms are bigger, more comfortable and while I said comfortable, nothing like Las Vegas or Atlantic City Casinos. The food is expensive for the portions they give. The comps that they use to give are now selectively prejudicial. I spend half what my brother used to spend a week and I always got comfortable comps. He never got anything. Then they got involved in government issues and the comps went away. The State Governor has foot in this door. I would give this place one star.
