Four guys went to Turning Stone primarily for a golfing outing. The golf courses are absolutely amazing and I have no complaints about the actual golfing. It's everything else that absolutely shocked me.

Food and Beverage:
Seems like it takes forever to get your meal, didn't matter which restaurant. The wait staff seemed untrained; at least the waitresses we had, they took forever, and couldn't answer simple questions. One member of our party is a vegetarian and they couldn't make a pasta alfredo without pancetta? If it's cooked to order how can they not leave out an ingredient?

Hotel Front Desk:
Upon check-in the keys to the room didn't work. I returned to the desk for another set, opened the door to find a room that was already occupied. I went back to the desk and was offered an apology, but no upgrades or credit. A new room was issued and those keys didn't work. Once more I returned to the front desk and still no offer for upgrade or credit. I was offered to have a bellhop accompany me to the room to make sure the door opened. So instead of owning up to the problem they made me feel incompetent.

Upon checkout one room was charged one rate and the other room was charged a significantly lower rate. I went to the front desk to question this and the clerk admitted to making the error stating that she was fixing it. Instead of bringing the other room down they reissued a charge to the credit card without the owner of the card being there. If I hadn't gone back in we would have never been advised of the change in charges.

Rooms: The rooms are spacious, the views from some rooms kind of suck, they look out to parking garages or parking lots. The beds are really soft. If you have a bad back watch out. You're gonna wake up sore.

Casino Floor: Typical casino, I wish the smoking vs the non-smoking areas were separated better. There's really no difference in air quality between the two. Every dealer there is a "cooler" I didn't see anyone winning. I was ecstatic to break even.

Overall, I won't be going back. The golf was great but I can go plenty of other places.

If you are a slot player stay away from the Turning Stomach. Have gone there for over 10 years and yet to have a win requiring an attendant. Frequently you hear over the loudspeaker "It's another lucky day at Turning Stone" and they announce some big supposed winner (funny how you never seem to see attendants paying anyone). You come away with the impression that these slot machines have been programmed by a miserly relative of Jack Benny's. Best to stay away unless you enjoy slot-induced agita.

I have NEVER left there up more then $20 dollars ahead of when i walked in.The payouts are awful.I understand they are in it to make money but the payouts are just way too few and far between. I only play the slots from the penny machines and up and have never noticed the higher costing machines to pay out more frequently. Only reason I go is because I enjoy playing the slots and the food is ok. The atmosphere is really good, nice and relaxed. I have been going less and less just sick of never winning. I don't like the fact that you have to use a card that is in your name to play almost so they can track how much money you spend and if you are a big spender they will throw you a bone every now and then. I wouldn't recommend turning stone to anyone. Just my opinion.

We have been visiting the casino since it opened.
My husband and I received a $100.00 gift card from our son, for Christmas. He knows that we enjoy playing the slot machines, as we have done in the past with the gift card that we receive..
At the cage, we were informed that this gift card was good only at the shops, hotels or for food and gas. We couldn't believe that our son wasn't told this upon purchasing the card.. We live 45 minutes away from the casino. We use our karats for food. We don't buy anything at the over priced shops. We are in our 70's and we go only for the slot machines.
This was a big disappointment to us. We have to use the card so we decided that getting gas was the only thing that made sense to us.
We know that in the end the casino will win but now, we don't even win enough to get excited about. Our free plays are a joke, as they are gone in minutes.

I have been playing at the Turning Stone Casino for ten years. The rooms a lovely, and the Casino is always beautifully decorated during holidays. Especially Christmas. They have a Christmas sale where their clients can exchange Carrots earned for Christmas gifts and various posh deserts from their bakery. The lodge and hotel are exquisite. The food is well made. It doesn't matter which restaurant you eat at, the food is always cooked well and they always give you a very large quantity. The only negative I see is that the slot machines do not pay out very well unless you are an extremely high roller. However, handling money is up to you. They will give you free rooms once a month if you spend a decent amount of time & money there. They usually give people a free meal every week, even if you don't spend a lot of money. All and all I'd say that the Casino serves the community well. They bring in a lot of great talent to an impoverished area. They do well with, well let me say the people that have less money than most of us. They sell smokes at a fairly decent price. If you pick a penny machine, you are likely to walk away with at least enough money for a free pack of smokes, and a small meal. So, let's be fair. If you can't handle your money yourself, than maybe you shouldn't go there. It is your responsibility to set aside money and set a boundary for yourself. They offer all sorts of other choices. Movies, golf, hiking trails etc. You don't even have to gamble to have a great time there. Let's not forget all those beverages they pump out for free. All you have to do is sit down at a machine to get a free cup of coffee. Come on guys. Fess up.
