But there are issues that I'll go into in a bit. The slots are laid out pretty well. All the major popular progressive machines that you see on YouTube and elsewhere. But I want to focus on The High Limit Room. These rooms in Vegas cater to the big players. Even if you are not a big player, if you bet big, then you get the same perks. There should be a convenient food table available and good looking waitresses to get you the drinks whenever you need something. Unfortunately, I saw none of that at the Tropicana in AC. Only thing I experienced was this pain-in-the-ass Asian slot manager. I made the mistake of asking him a question and then he would not leave me alone. Prodding me to put money in the machine. Just annoying the hell out of me. Constantly staring at me. I just don't need that in what is suppose to be a high-end room. And here is the other problem: The payouts are not at the same level as Vegas. I don't mean the percentages necessarily. Let me give you an example. Say you want to play 'Top Dollar.' If you are playing a $5 or $10 Machine in Vegas, the amount you see at the top of the machine are like, $50, $100, $500, $5000, $10000 and multipliers. You want to see the same level of prizes in AC. But no, what I witnessed were machines that started at $20 .. then $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000. and no multipliers that I saw. That really sucks! There is not the payback for betting large, so why bet? You understand, if you bet large, then you want a large WIN when you win, to make it all worth it. But the casino plays cheapskate with you. And that is just unacceptable for a High Limit Room. Of course, if you want to pony up to $25, $50, or $100 per spin, then you might get better, but you better have a huge wad of cash with you or you might not be playing long. I think the Casino companies are losing money on AC overall, so they expect the players to pick up the tab. They are even hitting you for outrageous parking rates on the self-park at many of them. Its just not worth it for the professional player who is looking to take home some cash. But if you want to just go there to make a big donation, then be my guest. I think Vegas may be your better option, but you be the judge. Try going to the Tropicana on Sunday night. There will be nobody except a few bums on the boardwalk. Hardly any food available to eat except a burrito stand at outrageous prices down on the lower level food court. And the Casino waitresses are these sort of worn-out looking ladies whose best days are long past. Its kind of sad. Not really the kind of experience you think of when you imagine visiting a Casino. Definitely not the James Bond experience, if you know what I mean. And the really unfortunate part of the story is that The Tropicana is probably the best one on that boardwalk for a Sunday night. Every other one we visited was pretty much empty except for some down-on-their-luck folks, possibly homeless (?), who were sitting at machines not playing. It was depressing as hell, to be honest. I'm sure you want to go there for a good time, so maybe its best to go on a Saturday night or possibly Friday night. I can't say because I never try to go when its crowded. Can only speak from my own experience and your mileage may vary. -- Good Luck, players!

We've already been able to stay a couple of nights and have received numerous gifts despite being newer players. I think they could use a little upgrading with the rooms and slot machines; but overall we have a good time when we go. Compared to other casinos in AC, they have good promotions and specials. The atmosphere is lively on the weekends and If you're looking to have a fun night out at a casino, I think Trop is a good bet.

It is pretty big with plenty of new machines but not much for good video poker. The casino is not much different than anywhere else in town. The poker room is pretty big and gets most of its action from local regulars who are pretty friendly with the dealers. My dealer was not to friendly to tourists (non regulars) but other than that the poker room is good and got a lot of action when I was there. I did not stay in the hotel.

They all seem annoyed when you ask for any assistance. I wish I could say this was just on one occurrence, but it is a regular thing.

The Trop has the highest parking charge of any casino in town ($10, most are $5 and the Atlantic Club is now free). The hotel needs some work. And there needs to be more a security presence in the hotel. The last time I stayed here I was woken up my a crazy woman screaming. This went on for the better part of 3 hours before finally someone from security came (and eventually ACPD). I used to like the buffet, but the price goes up and the quality goes down.

Full of older machines, not the cleanest and the food is OK but not spectacular. The employees didn't want to help anyone except for one slot attendant in the front smoking area. Everyone else including the slot club was not too friendly. We didn't eat there but did get a couple of drinks while playing and one girl was nice while the other was not. Example : one machine wouldn't let me order so I asked if I could order from her and she said no that "If the machine doesn't work right move to a different one" !

It's not an easy walk from the center part of the boardwalk. The shopping and restaurant choices are the best in Atlantic City and the game selection is excellent. Join the players club and you will usually receive a coupon book and emails with good offers!

First, the rooms. The North Tower is terrible. Try to stay away from it. The South Tower is wonderful. If you like extra large showers, this is the place for you. If you're a Marathon runner or otherwise in incredible shape, the West tower is for you. Otherwise, try to avoid it.

They seem to have every slot machine there is. They try to keep them current and there are tons of them. The gaming atmosphere is pleasant and the staff friendly.

The buffet is okay. Nothing outstanding, but the food is good and there is plenty of choices. The breakfast buffet ($20) is terrific. Your eggs are made to order in front of you. Lots of sides to go with them.

The Quarter is filled with shops and restaurants. I can't tell you how pricey they are, but Brooks Brothers is very expensive. My favorite restaurant is Carmine's. It's an Italian family place with mega portions. Every meal is meant for at least 4 people. If you go with less, you will have lots of leftovers. So, order one item and you will all have plenty to eat. Since I usually go alone, I just order the garden salad. No matter how hungry I am, I never can finish it. I usually bring the leftovers to my room and have it for a midnight snack.

If you're into Asian card games, they have a large separate room devoted to that.

If you're a smoker, the entire downstairs area allows you to smoke. There are other scattered areas on the main floor where you can also smoke. Of course, about 75% of the casino is smoke-free, so there is something for everyone.

Hope you get lucky.
