Golden Nugget Atlantic City: Updates were good/Still can't win

Golden Nugget made a nice effort to update the casino and hotel rooms; but we never really seem to have a good time there. The slots are super tight and the offers are just so-so. They need a better selection when it comes to cuisine and the casino still seems somewhat cramped and outdated. I would opt for another casino if you're a serious slot player.

Golden Nugget just took over the place in May. We've visited it a couple of times since and stayed once in June. The time we stayed, we checked in at 10pm. Our room wasn't ready and we'd have to wait until 11pm. At least they comped our drinks at the bar while we waited. The hotel pool has a nice view from the Marina of the hotels on the boardwalk (and at night you really can't see the crummy houses between the two). The slots pay okay. And they do have some $5 blackjack tables which are rare in the Northeast. They also have $1 tables but they have the stupid 25 cent commission per hand. The restaurant was just okay. And since the casino is now owned by a restaurant company, it will hopefully get better. But only time will tell.

Nice place. Rooms are nice. Buffet expensive and is not a good one. Casino is out and away from other casinos. Have to take Jitney taxi or car to get to other casinos. Jitneys are out dated, sometimes long wait, $2 each way, at this time needs improvement.

I absolutely love the Trump Marina. Yes it is small and often less crowded but the employees, especially the dealers and floor supervisors are genuinely hospitable and fun loving. Its not full of lights and glitzy glamour but its not dingy either.

You can always find $5 gaming tables on a sunday-friday up to around 7 pm on friday evening. because of this combination I find it to be a relaxing friendly enjoyable gaming atmoshphere in my book the best in A.C. no comment on machine payback %. I stay away from one armed bandits and and dont play video poker much. however i didnt have any problems finding 9/6 J or better paytables at 25 cents and up denom.

The 24 hour cafe-forget the name of it has limited menu but food is good and service is not greatest but is sincere and efficient. Buffet not the greatest in A.C. All trump casinos in A.C want to promote the poker room at the Taj Mahal so trump marina does not have a poker room. if they did i would never leave to go to another casino. summary dont let the size and lack of billion dollar chandeliers fool you- everyone should play at Trump Marina. This casino is a little out of the way over in the Marina section, but it's worthwhile to stop by and see, especially? if you aren't a member of their slot club.

My wife signed up for a card there and they gave her $50 in free play. That's the most free play money I have ever seen given away in a casino promotion for new members.

She played it on a $2 9/6 Jacks or Better machine and ended up with $70. A great deal!

I understand that Trump sold the place and it will be converted into a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville casino in the future.

Hmm, I wonder, does that mean they will have a Jimmy Buffet buffet?
