They have a small poker room running 1/3 NL and 4/8 LH, and one of the best sports books anywhere. The hotel is pretty big as are the rooms. Great Full Pay Video Poker here at the quarter level. It's located near the very large sports book, another selling point of this Vegas icon. You'll notice that part of the casino still has the Star Trek look to it. They never removed this when "Star Trek: The Experience" closed a while back. It's kind of weird, but cool in a weird way. Plenty of dining options at LVH. Benihana's is always a good choice. The Buffet isn't too bad either, not great, but slightly above average. Free boxed wine and Pabst Blue Ribbon to go along with the $19.99 dinner price. Elevators were fast, I had a nice room with a great view. They have great VP varied and full pay, I have friends that love the slots there. Drink service was good and I gambled most of the time near the old Star Trek experience. I think you really have to pump some big dollars to get meaningful comps. i played about 8 hours and on Tues. I believe I was earning 3x points.for most of my play and at the end I had about $7 bucks. I was playing 5 coins .25. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the dinner. it's not the Bellagio, which I went to, but its good. They have a nice fitness room but there is a charge. I had a reuben pastrami at their deli and it was good . Not the quality of Greenbergs or Canters but a fine sandwich. I was able to check in without much of a line at noon and express check out from the room, so I was a happy camper in that area. In addition the 108 rtc bus stop to the airport is right across the street. In any case, now that the Hilton has ended their agreement with this property they are calling it LVH, which is quite funny since that it was my friends and I have always called it. I think when Manilow left this property it was all downhill from there. He brought a lot of people in to this property. Rooms: I have a love hate relationship with this property. One time I was upgraded to a walk-in marble suite with jacuzzi. I think at the time they only had a couple of these rooms available and then the genius who is in charge of the property decided to get rid of these fabulous rooms for remodel. It was a nice big room and the jacuzzi itself was enormous. Since then I have been staying in the Grand Room and have noticed that in the past few years the customer service at the check in desk has gone down along with some other aspects of the property. I have been given rooms that were the incorrect room I booked, missed wake up calls, etc. Food: The Las Vegas Hilton buffet was great, especially because I received the buffets for free being an elite Hilton Honors member, no more now, thanks Hilton! Another great place is the sandwich shop directly across from the Sports Book. Great sub sandwiches made to order. You think they would keep it open til early morning but it usually closes late at night... Slots/Table Games: Some great classic Slot machine games. I like the fact that they kept some of the classics instead of replacing them with some of the garbage that is coming out lately. As for table games, the dealers and pit bosses are the friendliest around. Really had a good time gambling there. The Sportsbook is second to none and you actually used to get food or property comps for placing wagers in The Sportsbook but not sure what they are doing now since they changed owners... Misc.: Easy to get too and from the Strip as the Monorail goes right to the LVH. Great place to get away from the usual craziness of the Strip. They shouldn't have shelved the Star Trek Experience. That always brought a lot of guests in. It closed a few years ago and they still have all that space with absolutely nothing in it. What a waste of space. Big disappointment again in their management. I hate to say it but I wouldn't be surprised if this property closes shop in the next few years to make room for something new. I don't have any knowledge of that, it's just a hunch and from what has been happening lately. I think guests who don't know already will be severely disappointed when they find out that they can't get Hilton Honor Points or Rewards anymore, especially the free daily breakfast at the buffet. Having never been to the Hilton before, I decided that I would take the monorail from Imperial Palace. From riding the monorail, and see how far it goes, you get a real perspective how big the hotels and buildings in Las Vegas... Anywho, back to the review. We arrived around 2 or 3 in the afternoon as we wanted to play a bit. There is a great selection of machines, and even found some 9/6 JOB at my type of limit - quarters. The drink service was fast, too fast. This place knows how to mix a great Tequila Sunrise. I never signed up for a card, as there was no real incentive to. There was no promotion on when I was there, so, no card. The staff was super nice at this place. Nicer than nice. Everyone was so helpful, especially they lady I never got my card from. She gave some great advice on taking a cab Downtown later - Take the monorail to that last station, where the Sahara is, straight down the elevator and hail a cab off the street. Only about $10 w/tip from there... My wife said she could feel "Elvis" in this place; lots of history here apparently... I would like to try this place out someday to stay for a night or two... The Hilton person who handled getting my buffet comp was great answering my emails and cell phone calls. The place is so big that we got lost finding a place to park until we finally found the parking garage. The buffet was actually a disappointment being so small. (But a free buffet is always good!). Las Vegas Hilton has 9/6 JoB even at the quarter level (and maybe even lower) which is HARD to find on the strip. Okay, The Hilton isn't right on the strip, but still it's way above the rest in terms of video poker. The slot selection is decent as well. Table games tend to have low minimums, and the staff is very nice here. We received free drinks when joining the players club, and the cocktail service was excellent over in the full pay VP area (right by the sportsbook). It's nice having monorail passes because there's a stop right at The Hilton.
