Terribles used to be a great place to go for free bling and a cheap buffet. I love those old red hats. Recently they have been using the promos less as come-ons and more as simple rewards for play. I see the logic of that change while I mourn the loss of another red cap. The free T shirts were pretty basic, so I won’t miss them.
Years back I could play VP Job 9/6 in nickles. Those were cut, leaving quarters. Then those were cut as well. If you search, however, you can still find some machines in quarters left. I generally play by going toward the main cashier’s cage down the center aisle and checking the machines to my right; the first or second in one row generally gives me a full pay.
I play less than I did simply because I never played enough for room comps, and I have decided to concentrate my play where I also want to stay.
Terribles is not a bad place to stay. The rooms were basic, although I have not stayed in the better rooms, just the cheapest. They now have flat televisions and coffee makers in many rooms. The pool was above average, pleasantly shaped and surrounded with green growing things. There was even some shade.
Location is too far from the strip to want to walk, and on Flamingo it is not a good walk in the dark of night.
However, once I was sick and rented a car. I remember how thankful I was to have a fine Walgreen’s just a bit East of the casino with no traffic to hold me up from getting juice and pills and then back to bed. However, the TV station selection is pretty sad, as is most casino TV. As insurance against feeling sick I think I like Super 8 with TCM and HBO and free wifi and access to better food.
That being said Terribles has one nice location. It is near the airport. When I rented a car I always stopped there before returning it because I knew there would be no difficulty timing the trip to the airport from there.
Also the 108 which runs South from there is a fine bus line for a number of stops.
The Flamingo bus drops right at the parking lot. There is no worry late at night to take it back to Terribles.
The American Casino Guide has a 2 for 1 food coupon good for the buffet. That makes breakfast a little over $2, dinner under $5. It is not an extensive buffet, but even if all I eat is fruit and yogurt, I get my money’s worth for breakfast. I rarely end up there for the other buffets, but I did last year and did not find it unpleasant. What I like is that I don’t have to worry about the day. There are themed buffets every day and a Sunday brunch, but they are all $9 ($4.50 with coupon) Free with a bit of play…...................http://www.terriblescasinos.com/din_buffet.php........................................
The Cafe serves wonderful food as well and cheaply. I love breakfast there. I love the service. $3 for Deuces Wild: pancakes, bacon, eggs. And this is 24 hours, not some graveyard special 3 times a week although they do have those at $5- 11-7 for things like a half roast chicken. Their signature chicken was always the tequila chicken and I love that.

A great coupon run using your American Casino Guide is to Hard Rock (new members only) walk to Terribles, then walk to Tuscany, Ellis Island, Westin. Do this in the daytime. Both Terribles and Ellis Island offer food on coupon. Then take the bus to the Palms and the Gold Coast and the free shuttle to the Orleans. Flamingo is my Vegas strip for frugal gambling.

Poker at Terribles is not my favorite. There are just two tables squeezed into the main floor. The casino is a bit smoky. I’ve avoided it. But if you smoke, you might like it. I also don’t much like Hard Rock poker, so I don’t stay at Terribles as I once did because there are no games right around that spot.
However, I like it if I feel I’ll be exhausted when I arrive after 5 hours of airplane, or if I want an easy ride to the airport my last couple nights. Terribles offers a free shuttle. They will pick up and drop off. Also, the Rivercity bus to Laughlin (about $110) round trip only picks up at the airport and at Terribles. It may seem expensive, but if you like Laughlin the cheap rooms, food will make up for the travel expense and it is not very much for solo riders compared to gas and the price of a rental.
So for bus/shuttle riders Terribles is ideally located.
The American Casino Guide has a great hotel deal ($49 for two nights) but it is limited to certain months, so I never get to take advantage of that, as I don’t go those months.

Terribles has always been known for many promotions, free slot tournaments, stuff to buy with points, point multiplier days. While it is not what it once was, it still is pretty good in comparison. If you are renting a car watch for gas card promotions. Ask at the Club desk.
