The slots are alot looser and the buffet is wonderful! Many other casinos near-by and fun to check out when in this area.

The primary problem, aside from the location, was the soft beds. My wife's back ached so much that she ended up seeing a chiropractor when we were returned home.

They have plenty of full pay, progressive and 100% video poker, but they have removed some. They have a poker room that the locals like, with some promotions going on many days. This is a huge property with lots to do.

There are no nearby highways running east/west so we invariably ended up using highly trafficked Flamingo, Tropicana, Sahara or Desert Inn to get to the Strip or our dining destinations west of the Strip. We found Desert Inn to be the least congested. On the plus side, there is easy access to 515/95 that runs north to Downtown and south to Henderson/Boulder City.

As a Sapphire card member, I receive discounted rates that can be booked online. On our most recent trip we decided to spend 13 nights there because the room rates were significantly lower than other locals hotel/casinos that we frequent.

Now it may just be that I'm a little biased because it's the only casino in Vegas that sends me free room offers but I still love it. It's a locals casino and all the workers have that same "cheers" like attitude where everyone is their friend and they also have great video poker. They are one of the few casinos left that have full pay dueces wild which has an expected return of over 100% if you know how to play it which is always a plus too. I also like their hotel a lot also, the rooms are great for the price just don't be expecting a 4 seasons or anything.

Accommodations are fine, though if you want a room overlooking the atrium, that's an upgrade. It's kind of fun to walk through the atrium or sit and watch the variety of stuffed birds and animals out there do their things. Last time we were there the wolf that comes out of the mountain top and howls was a little moth eaten, but we just accept that as part of Sams. Enjoy the Tuesday senior $3 movies and you can take your ticket stub to TGI Fridays and get a BOGO meal. Sams also has a big bowling alley with great prices. Breakfast buffet with your players card is only $5.49, but avoid the ice tea with any meal. It's from a concentrate and tastes pretty bad.

We make sure we visit it on senior day to get the most points for our play since points are multiplied that day. Also, it takes half the points to get a buffet on senior day.
