Great Crab Legs and Prime Rib, all the other selections are very good also. Big casino with lots of the newer slots, table games with lower limits in the afternoon, very nice atmosphere, lots of shopping and theaters for live shows. ]]> Tue, 17 Apr 2012 00:11:35 +0000 <![CDATA[Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: Godd buffet]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504883 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504883 We stayed here when it was the ALADDIN and the rooms were very nice. I like to play here. I love the 'earl of sandwich' shop. Great bargain if you are looking for something quick. The buffet is also good. I would stay here again, but i like Harrahs because everything is right there as you get off the elevator. ]]> Wed, 30 Nov 2011 23:15:16 +0000 <![CDATA[Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: FANTASIC!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504829 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504829 Stayed here at the end of October for 5 nights for my wife's 30th birthday. This was also my first time staying at PH... We arrived at 2pm on a Monday afternoon. There was no one else at the front desk when we checked in, so I thought I would try the Andrew Jackson sandwich. I put the $20 between my ID and Credit Card and asked how he "could better accommodate us this week. Surely you have something better than the Hip Room?" Ended up getting a Resort Vista Suite on the 16th floor. It was a long walk from the elevator, but it was worth it. Room was massive, with a huge bathroom. There were two separate sinks on two separate counter tops in the bathroom, a large soaker tub with 42" flat screen above it, stand-up tower with a bench and separate pooh closet. The room itself had king-size bed with, large sitting area. All the rooms here have Hollywood stuff in them, we had the Walter Matthau suite. The casino here is awesome, confusing, but awesome. It took about 3 days to really get my bearings and figure out where the elevator was. There was a decent selection of VP, not the best paytables, but fun. I mostly played DDB at the bar and did quite well. Bartender was great and kept me hydrated. The casino after 7pm or so is like being in a night club. The Pleasure Pit comes alive where the dealers are dressed in lingerie and have dancers behind the tables. Lots of eye candy to be had. The music is also cranked way up, but sounds good. The Spice Market buffet has to be one of the best I have ever had in Vegas. I had a $10 off coupon and used my savings to buy the $11.99 all you can drink. The selection of food here was insane. The seafood section was great, and there were honestly too many options, especially at the desert section! I think I had 6 or 7 beer with dinner over the course of 2 hours. They were in no rush to throw us out, which was really nice. I also need to suggest that if anyone walks through this place, to go the Earl of Sandwich. It is awesome and open 24hrs which satisfied my midnight hunger. I really liked PH for the amenities, and the fact that I could be outside on the Strip in 4 to 5 minutes after leaving my room. ]]> Sun, 27 Nov 2011 08:15:41 +0000 <![CDATA[Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504824 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504824 Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a fun casino because it is connected to the Miracle Mile Shops. I've never stayed in the Planet Hollywood Hotel but I have stayed in the Planet Hollywood Westgate which is the timeshare tower. It was a really nice 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen and hot tub. There was also a projector screen that doubled as a curtain to block out the light. The pool was nice too. There weren't too many families there, but it also wasn't packed with drunk partiers. ]]> Sun, 27 Nov 2011 05:24:31 +0000 <![CDATA[Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: Best Buffet In Vegas]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504733 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2504733 Forget Rio (overrated) or any of those other Vegas buffets. As far as the strip goes, this place is #1 in my opinion. They have Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and even a Middle Eastern station. Made to order crepes, burgers, etc. make this my favorite Vegas buffet. As far the whole city goes, the only other contender for best buffet might be M Resort. Gaming is okay here too, nothing special but it's okay. They also have a shopping mall with some cool little stores. -Dale ]]> Sun, 30 Oct 2011 07:00:10 +0000 <![CDATA[Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino: Good players club.]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2502375 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/planet-hollywood-resort-a-casino.html/discussions/2502375 I visited the Planet Hollywood casino in January while the Miss America pageant was going on, and I was pretty impressed by the buffet, but the level of service on the casino floor could be improved.

The Spice Market Buffet is touted as the best deal for gourmet buffets. And while the food is very good, the price is still somewhat steep (especially because they charge a couple bucks extra for champagne during the brunch). You can usually find coupons that help offset the cost. My advice is to join the players club, whereupon you receive a coupon book with great deals. I especially like the $25 match play coupon -- I've gotten that twice now and both times used it at the blackjack table -- where I won both times, turning 25 bucks into 75! Nice, I like.

Getting back to the buffet; I had the best omellette I've ever had at any of the buffets I've visited. Just a simple ham & cheese deal, but it was awesome! Also, they have great shrimp, freshly-made waffles, and crepes!! The crepes were awesome, but save them for last because they fill you up. To top it off, they have cotton candy! And the champagne is not too bad.

The lighting and decor of Planet Hollywood is pretty cool, a place where I could kick it for a while and drink -- that is if the servers ever waited on me. Also, the slots don't seem to be too forgiving. And stay away from Yolos Mexican Grill -- the waitress ripped me off. I had a buy 1/get 1 free beer coupon, and I showed it to her before I ordered -- so she just upped the price on one beer to offset the free one. Always order before you show your coupon! Lesson learned.

If you take full advantage of the players' club coupon book, and like shopping, then Planet Hollywood is a cool place to visit while you're on the strip. Park at the garage, then you can walk through the Miracle Mile shops on your way to the casino. ]]>

I have no complaints.

However, I understand that the food in their Spice Market Buffet isn't as good as it used to be. Too bad. ]]>
