They also removed all comps and promos from some of them and reduced points on some others. The poker situation keeps changing, right now it's in the sports book running 1/2 NL and 2/6 spread. Plenty of night life here, but the rooms were only average from what I would expect. They do have a great pool and lots of good food options. ]]> Tue, 18 Feb 2014 20:02:53 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: An okay place to play]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2506706 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2506706 This is an okay place to play about a mile west of the Strip. The place draws mostly locals during the week with its promotions. It draws young LA hipsters mainly on the weekend. It does have some full pay video poker machines. The slots payout somewhat better than on the Strip. They have an overpriced food court ($12 for a hot dog, fries, and a soda). But the buffet was actually pretty nice and the price was actually good compared to other Vegas buffets. We always buy the $40 in slot play coupon for $25 before we head out there, so that is a plus as well. Some of the dealers are nice and some not so much. ]]> Sun, 01 Dec 2013 18:17:25 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: Great Hotel, Great Gaming - My Favorite Place to S]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2506433 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2506433 I love the Palms. It's got extremely easy access, it's off of the strip so you don't have to deal with crazy traffic or people, it's classy and nice. Great video poker, one of the best in town for that. They are also pretty good to their players as well, in terms of mailers, comps and promotions. I love Nove! What a great Italian restaurant! Their coffee shop sucks, though. Just do the coffee shop thing somewhere else. Overall, I love this place, and will stay here again and again if they keep treating me well. ]]> Fri, 24 May 2013 02:27:24 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: The Palms is Cool]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2505496 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2505496 My food rating is based on the buffet and court. They are very average. As you might know they were known for having great VP, it is still very good, but they have taken out some positive games. I like the style it is "modern" and slick. They have a good coffee franchise place. I hit a royal there less than 2 years and my positive results are about every other time. Drink service is good once they find you. Early in the day the CWs have large stations. they have a food court and a movie theatre. ]]> Thu, 26 Apr 2012 04:00:04 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: Not very good for gambling.]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504703 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504703 I visited the Palms after it first opened and found the slots were so tight, I simply gave them my money. Didn't like the atmosphere...it didn't seem to have any. Haven't been back since. ]]> Fri, 28 Oct 2011 19:29:48 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: The Palms]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504604 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504604 We love going to the Palms Casino every trip to Las Vegas. The old garage was always almost full but now since they added another parking garage the parking is easier. The place is always full of young people going to the clubs or younger people going to the movie theatre and food court, ]]> Tue, 25 Oct 2011 17:52:36 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: The Hipsters and the Locals]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504329 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2504329 As a non-strip hotel, you know that this place has to appeal to the locals (with plenty of slot machines, promotions etc), but it also attracts that out of state young and party crowd as well. The party crowd pretty much sticks to the pool and the playboy club, while the locals hit the slots. Both of these groups seem to meet at the buffet which is good and offers more than your old vegas "prime roast beef). The rooms are still newish, with interesting bathroom fixtures, soaps etc. The sports bar is big and bright. At night, there is more of a party atmosphere, the young crowd standing in long snaking lines to get into the club, and the place takes on a more "party pit" atmosphere. But be warned, Maloof is now a minority owner of the place, and who knows if the new owners will be smart enough to leave this place mostly the way it is, or try to turn it into a mirror of the non-descript properties that harrah's owns (ie, which is what happened to the RIO across the street) ]]> Tue, 16 Aug 2011 14:30:57 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: The vibe and the odds]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2502206 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2502206 Great youthful vibe and atmosphere. Both young and old enjoy this place and the place gets younger, and hipper, at night. The slots are terrific and the table games are fair. A must visit place on anyones's list. ]]> Tue, 24 Feb 2009 04:09:55 +0000 <![CDATA[Palms Casino/Resort/Spa: The Palms]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2502195 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/palms-casino-resort-spa.html/discussions/2502195 The Palms has a large casino area with many penny slots. It always seems to be noisy and full of young people going to the clubs. Not impressed. The casino is too dark. Very large gaming floor. Tables were too high for a Tuesday morning.

Ate at the food court. That was good. They do have Kids Quest hourly child care. If we go back, it will be for the child care. Didn't bring kids this trip.

Parking was easy. Just drove to self park and steps to the door. ]]>
