I played 1.00 bets and lost money at record speed. Only one 10% payback. Absolutely terrible. Reno sucks.

The other 2 Terrible casinos in the area are the Terrible's Rail City in Sparks and the Terrible's Ranch in Verdi. The Sands is a dog friendly hotel.

Very grubby and very smokey in the casino, the room had little or no amenities and was not well cleaned, hair in many places in the bath. The heat in the room quit and took more than two hours to get it going brrrrr. The hot water does not always work and when it does it takes a long time to get it. I'm not trying to be hard on these guys, after all it is a very old hotel, but really it is time for some upgrades.

As to the casino it is very smokey and has an overwhelming smell of air freshener. We tried the buffet on the first day and it is very cheap. Unfortunately we found out why with very little variety and not well prepared, so much so that we ate elsewhere for the rest of our stay.

The player's club sends out e-mail and regular mail room and e-cash offers regularly. The casino is located near the downtown casinos and has it's own outdoor parking lot.
