It was the first casino built from the ground up by Las Vegas casino mogul Michael Gaughan, who already operated the Barbary Coast on the Las Vegas Strip. Upon opening, the Gold Coast was the first casino to have a first-run movie theater in Las Vegas (the original MGM Grand had a theater screening MGM classics) and was specifically catering to the growing "locals" market of the Las Vegas suburbs. It was the second major resort built on the west side of Interstate 15, ten years after Palace Station.[citation needed] In October 1995, the largest jackpot in the state at the time, $10,918,881.00, was won by an anonymous man on a "Megabucks" slot machine. Destination amenities and activities draw both tourists and locals. The Gold Coast Hotel & Casino has a state-of-the-art bowling center, one of the country’s largest. Plus, the latest and greatest video and interactive games. Enjoy a wide variety of gaming, too. There are over 700 newly remodeled premium rooms and deluxe suites, a new fitness center, and beautifully landscaped pool. Free shuttles between nearby sister property, The Orleans Hotel, and the Strip are offered. Restaurants include the #1 Asian restaurant in Las Vegas, Ping Pang Pong. Cornerstone Steakhouse is a Hidden Gem and one of my favorite Las Vegas restaurants. At the moment the buffet is closed but IMO the most underrated buffet in Las Vegas. The Noodle Exchange is one of the city’s favorite noodle bars, with a wide array of delicious noodle and rice dishes. Be sure to try the mini hot pots, the specialty of the house! I have stayed at Gold Coast many times. I have enjoyed every stay and visit. ]]> Fri, 30 Jul 2021 08:28:27 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: Wouldn't stay anywhere else]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2508076 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2508076 I stay at the Gold Coast every time I come to Vegas and have never been disappointed any time ]]> Wed, 25 May 2016 12:15:16 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: decent casino and hotel]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2507182 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2507182 Food from a hot dog stand with saurkraut to a steakhouse, heavy on the asian choices. nice rooms at a good value. Good video poker paytables, low stakes tables. Decent players club. Casino is smokey. Desk is always friendly. Maids very good. Players club is good but get chinzy on some things. Other than smokey, I enjoy playing here. They have a pool, bowling, and a fitness center for a reasonable price. Also a shuttle to the orleans and strip. There is good variety in their restuarants. ]]> Tue, 24 Jun 2014 14:47:33 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: Gold Coast Casino/Hotel]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506879 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506879 Fun casino with good promos and comps....food is great too!!! ]]> Tue, 11 Mar 2014 20:16:08 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: good "old" coast]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506830 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506830 Not too many youngsters here, but plenty of good games. Quarter full pay jacks or better upstairs by the bingo room, and full pay bonus triple play in the high stakes room. Gold Coast is also a good place for bingo and pai gow. There are some good coupons in the A.C.G. for the Gold Coast and usually some promo going on also. ]]> Sat, 15 Feb 2014 19:28:49 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: solid place to spend a few days.]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506747 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506747 Nice rooms and very solid buffet. I am adding more detail here. The Ping pang Pong is considered one of the best Chinese restaurants in Las Vegas. My ratings are based on the level of the casino. It's not the Bellagio. But its players club is much more rewarding for a low roller. Its exercise room is adequate and so is the pool and jacuzzi. I have always found the workforce and most of the clients to be very pleasant. Its an older crowd, but the tables have their share of younger people. ]]> Sat, 23 Nov 2013 01:36:20 +0000 <![CDATA[Gold Coast Hotel & Casino: There's Gold West of HW 15]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506693 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/gold-coast-hotel-a-casino.html/discussions/2506693 Stayed here again in October. Even if you don't hit a jackpot, the machines are loose enough that you can sit for a while and get a few drinks, instead of blowing your cash in 5 minutes. Rooms were good, very similar to Orleans. A/C was a little weak, but worked overall. Buffet was about the same as Harrah's, but cheaper. Resort fee is now $9.99, so make sure you add that into your room price! ]]> Mon, 26 Aug 2013 21:51:24 +0000
