The rooms are small but adequate.
They have a variety of food choice all decent nothing spectacular. It seems to me the casino is dirty, the machines, the rugs etc. people do enjoy the table games.
Cw service is shakey at the machines in my experience.

I have frequented Binion's and Four Queens many times, but somehow had never visited Fremont. So this last trip, decided to give it a try. It is a nice little casino. Blackjack still pays 3 to 2. They have a busy Tony Roma's restaurant. And it is part of B Connected which I already belonged to. I will definitely stop in on the next trip.

Not one of Boyd's best, very few full pay video poker and some are coin machines. Table games are average at best and the rooms are very old and tired. The buffet was a good value.

Cocktail service was spotty and they served drinks in plastic cups. The place seemed dingy. They had full pay bonus poker, I did not find job full pay at the .25 level. The variety of food choices is good.

I happen to be paralyzed and in a wheelchair, but fly out several times a year I fly out to Vegas and always enjoy checking out the various resorts -- especially the Downtown properties.

The Fremont is one of several Boyd Gaming properties downtown (Main Street Station and California Club) so they often offer some nice discounts and promotions for their Player's Club members.

The Fremont has a nice sportsbook that I like because it opens up early each morning to accept/pay out wagers, has a large electronic board and some of the nicest, most helpful employees. They are also generous with the free drink coupons for the adjacent bar.

Even though we prefer staying at the Four Queens, we find ourselves in the Fremont several times a day as it beckons us from directly across Freemont Street. I would probably spend more time/money there if the casino had some lower tables for 21 that are much more comfortable for someone in a wheelchair to spend a few hours playing at.

I usually do not like chain restaurants, but Tony Roma's is consistently good and their prime rib dinner is an excellent deal and a decent grade of beef.

The Paradise Buffet in the Fremont is also fine as far as buffets go -- especially the prices for the breakfast and lunch buffets or with the various 2:1 dinner buffet deals that are often available (except for Seafood nights).

The Fremont also has a nice chocolate shop if you want to surprise your loved one or discreetly give a little gift to a particulary helpful casino employee.

For a fast meal, we sometimes go for the Chinese combos in the Lanai Cafe, but a word of caution -- avoid the shrimp cocktails. They taste like they were prepared several days earlier in another state and shipped frozen to Vegas. Despite the cheap price, you couldn't pay me to eat another one and if not for their inferior quality shrimp cocktails, I would award a 4 Rating for Food & Drink.

We just hope the Golden Gate will bring back their $1.99 shrimp cocktails after they complete their renovations. It is just not a trip to Vegas without a few tasty and inexpensive shrimp cocktails after a fun evening at the tables.

It was reasonably clean and the restaurants were fine. The buffet was particularly good. The drawback was the very tiny rooms including the bathroom. It's an old property so that's what you get. The prices were low but man, those tiny bathrooms...built for munchkins!!!!!!

Located in the heart of downtown, if you're a munchkin, this is the place for you.

Not sure what it is about this place, but I always seem to have the best luck playing VP here. I have only hit 4 Royals in my life playing, 3 of them being here - 2 in the same night!

Haven't stayed here because there is no pool, and I don't like leaving my hotel to go to another to use a pool.

Casino is really smoky, not a lot of ventilation here.

Still, a must see to get that "old Vegas" feel.... and smell

The buffet is one of the better buffets downtown and reasonably priced, especially breakfast with made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruit and excellent drink service. The Second Street Grill is an outstanding restaurant and one of the best kept secrets of downtown. There is also a Tony Roma's chain restaurant that serves decent ribs.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms pleasing in decor. The rooms are small (the hotel was built in the 1950's), but at least for a solo traveler more than sufficient. Some rooms are close to the sound and light show on Fremont street, so I recommend asking for a quiet room. An advantage of being a small hotel is that all is very close by. An elevator opens in the casino and goes up to the rooms, so there is not a long walk to go back and forth to the room.

We have also found the staff very friendly. One night the blacjack tables were full, and we had 4 wanting a $10 min. table, and the staff opened a table up for us.

I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable, pleasant place to stay and gamble, and are not bothered by the lack of a large room and bath, and lack of glitz.
