The casino is the same no-themed Strip joint that's trendy now. The games are the same bad quality as most of the new Strip, but it is nice, new, and very red. You have to go next door to the Wynn to play poker, but it's a good action room. ]]> Tue, 14 Jan 2014 21:44:43 +0000 <![CDATA[Encore Las Vegas: Encore]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2504826 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2504826 I've never stayed at Encore Casino and Hotel but after staying at the Wynn I can only imagine how nice Encore is. A cool fact about Encore is that their day pool is XS's nightclub pool. The casino is just a nice as Wynn's. ]]> Sun, 27 Nov 2011 05:31:48 +0000 <![CDATA[Encore Las Vegas: Dracula's Bordello]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2502372 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2502372 Steve Wynn's newest luxury casino, Encore, recently opened on December 22nd. Similar in design to the Wynn, Encore has a gaudy red color palette and butterfly motif. I visited Encore on the 27th and the place was packed! There was ample space to gamble, as most of the people were merely trudging through the establishment with a curious eye. In these harsh economic times, who can afford to play a $5 slot machine?

I walked to the Encore and had to pass through a labyrinthine-like maze starting at the Venetian. There you travel to the Palazzo, then the Wynn, and signs there will direct you to Dracula's bordello...uh, I mean, Encore. The blood-red chandeliers confused me. Throughout my walk, I was surrounded by high-end shops, such as Rolex and Dior. Not surprisingly, most of the shops were empty. It seems a bit crass to open another posh hotel casino on the strip when air traffic at McCarran has decreased for the 13th straight month. Encore is nice, but I will investigate further once the crowds wane...an inevitability come mid-January.

Encore looks great, and is a decent addition to the Wynn franchise, but it seemed stuffy to me. I prefer the energy of the Hard Rock, or the kitsch of New York New York, or the variety of the Red Rock Casino; but my opinion is skewed as I am an unpretentious young man. Older people may find Encore more appealing, especially those of the silver-spoon demographic. ]]>

<![CDATA[Encore Las Vegas: Encore is great]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2502142 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/nevada/encore-las-vegas-hotel-and-casino.html/discussions/2502142

This is the cadillac of Las Vegas hotel/casinos. Everything is exquisite from the time you step into the registration area. The decor is to die for. There are employees everywhere to assist you.

The casino area is wide open with lots of room. You never feel crowded. The mix of slot machines is excellent. As for the rooms, we were on the 63rd (53rd as there are no floors numbered in the 40's)floor with an incomparable view.

If Mt Charleston wasn't there you could probably see all the way to Pahrump. The rooms are all suites and the smallest is 850 square feet. Plenty of room. Of course 42" hd wide screen tv & all the necessary office hook ups.

A most enjoyable 3 day stay.
