My wife and I visit 2-3 times a year and are always treated well. We won a Mercedes back in 2003, maybe that's it, they want their money back, but still. Good food, a feeling that you have a chance to win is nice. The recent ownership switch changed things some. For the first time we had a small bill at the end of a week long stay, comps seemed to be less than they used to be we think, and we found the slots way tighter than usual.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
We stayed recently after I got a free room offer for two nights on the internet. The buffet is still great although the senior discount is no longer 2 for 1 but $5 each. They still have the Treasures of the Eldorado promotion where you scan your players card every two hours to win prizes. Parking in the Eldorado garage is free with validation.
My wife and I decided to switch from Harrah's to the Eldorado during our brief stays in Reno. We are very glad we did. Parking is easy and free. Check-in is easy and folks at the front desk are very nice. Lots of security throughout and we especially were glad to see a Security Officer by the elevators to ensure that only guests went upstairs.
I liked the slots but really enjoy the table games. I would give the slots a higher mark but I keep losing!!! Ha! The craps tables are just fun to be around. Everyone seems to be having a great time. Restaurants are just fine with very entertaining bartenders.
We have stayed in some very nice and clean rooms. Nothing fancy. Beds are very comfortable. I also take advantage of a small but well equipped health club. Clean too.
Price has also been right. I normally get a weekend room for about $75 including tax and fees. A pretty good deal.
The Eldorado Casino has a great buffet restaurant which has a 2 for 1 breakfast or lunch deal for seniors. We occasionally get free room offers in the mail which we gladly take advantage of.
