I see Westie and I share the same interest in this casino. I like staying here when Sam's Town does not beat the price with comps. Monday night I love the Claudine Castro Latin music in the lounge, 10 to 2am and am happy to have a room nearby to stumble into. Eastside Cannery brews their own beer and it is $1.50 or less so the price of having a lounge seat is pretty inexpensive.
The live poker room only deals limit poker and some tournaments, but four hours of play will give you a free buffet for that day. The poker room manager is one of the nicest I have encountered in Vegas. Mostly locals play, but it is softer than Sam's Town limit and like most places, later in the evening, it can get very soft.
There is a classic coin dropping section of good paying video poker, but these earn no points. There are a very few full pay VP machines near Marilyn's lounge. A very high paying jacks or better is reported to be there, although my buddy did not find it. He did play the 10/7 DB last month.
I keep a Bank of America bank account because I can easily get money anywhere I travel. There is a drive in teller right across the street from the Eastside Cannery and it certainly helps with managing to have enough money, but not too much.
The rooms are great. I used to get a corner room with wall to ceiling glass on two sides, but those cost extra now. There is NO RESORT FEE and seniors can get a $10 a night discount if booking on the phone. There is FREE WIFI.
My buddy just stayed there and the difference in the price of a room versus the strip which is all resort fees now paid for his rental car.

Carve is their steakhouse. We had a very enjoyable meal there.
The steaks were perfectly cooked of high quality.
The service was friendly and the waitperson was attentive to our wants.
It is a beautiful room which added to our enjoyment.
we are sure you will enjoy it too!

The Eastside Cannery is near Sam's Town and the Longhorn Casino. It is relatively new so we have checked it out a few times.
The casino is nice and the buffet good. The first time we went we tried to use a coupon to get a free t-shirt for signing up for the players club but they had run out.

Being off the strip makes this a great casino full of fun and great entertainment in the bars at night! The food is great in Snaps and the buffet is OK. The rooms are big and very nice to have a frig in the room too! I love this casino!

There have been some downgrades to the Video Poker and the Craps now has Max 10X Odds. When it first opened Bob Dancer was consulting there and there were some good VP machines, full pay and close to it. Now, according to vpFREE2 the best games are 9/6 JOB 99.55% and 99.17% Bonus Poker.

The bar on the 16th floor (Club 16) is no longer open as far as I know. It was a real nice place with accommodations for a band or live DJ and dancing. We hope that will come back as it was nice.

The pool is very good and can facilitate outdoor entertainment.

The casino is large with high ceilings, reducing the smoke content of the air. They also have a coin in section of slots and VP for those of you who like the nostalgia of handling those dirty coins.

The buffet is acceptable with a decent cross section of food and coupons for two for one seem easy to obtain from various guide books and the local paper.

There were some new sign up bonuses but they were out of hats when I went there.

The rooms are clean, spacious and all have a good sized flat screen TV.

I would have rated this higher but I've never stayed there, although they've sent me some good offers.

The drawback for me is the lack of proximity to other casinos. I like to hit several in close order like Downtown, But if you like staying at one place this is a good bet.
