First he told me and my handicap could not sit at a four person table because we were only 2 people.I wanted to sit there because it was a end table .He put us in the middle where it very hard for her to get out.The to make matters even worse when they did put people at that table they were none handicap and only 2 people. The buffet was very slow when we were in there. His attitude was you will sit were I tell you are leave my casino..... ]]> Sun, 22 Apr 2018 01:00:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Great Food and Casino Fun]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2508269 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2508269
Wife and I ate at the Final Cut Steakhouse with friends our last trip through.Steaks were very good and service excellent. Stick with the one dollar slots. Penny slots and table games not so much. Hit a jackpot on one dollar slots but nothing on the penny slots.

<![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Need to really work on their comps, and attitude]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2508055 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2508055
I recently started going to Hollywood! The first time was pretty good won maybe $20. Next few not so good! Lost $80 next time lost like $400, next time lost like $600, then lost another 200! Second time I went in there they were very nice and gave me some meal comps, and like $25 free slot play! Then after losing several hundred dollars several times in a row,($380 the last time I went in) they refuse any comps!!! On my card there is $6.80 in comps built up after couple grand in losses, and cant even be used as slot play!!!! Also a burger is like $10 so $6.80 is not even enough to eat!!! Thanks Hollywood, but no thanks!!! Next time maybe I try Alton Belle??? The one guy at the desk where u get your card was helpful the one time I have seen him, but besides that most employees are very dull!!! Lifeless casino!!! Ameristar is way better, but I like to have more than one choice, which really Hollywood? You could have had my business! But chose to be rude, and cold instead. Hope it was worth the at least two or three hundred, sometimes 6-8 per week I would have continued dropping, had you given any kind of comps at all

<![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Wish it wasn't so...]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2507809 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2507809 I have been a frequent guest of Harrahs / Hollywood casino for ten years. I have been a chef for 15 years. I have to say that it has gone downhill significantly. I had the buffet for the first time in a few years today and now I remember why. The food was horrible. It was their BBQ dinner with beer for 25.00$. There was hardly any BBQ to choose from and what was there was very low quality and hardly any selection. The ribs weren't done and BBQ brisket was the only other option! I almost asked for a refund on my comps that I used to purchase the meal. The deli located in the casino has recently changed their menu and I wish they wouldn't have. The burgers used to be delicious, but now you should plan on being served a burger that has been sitting there for a while. Either that or they figured out a new way to cook burgers in less than three minutes.. The fries are OK, but again, have been sitting there for a while waiting for you to order them. The bartenders are awesome, and the security team are a pleasure to talk to. Two or three of the dealers do a great job, but the rest look like they don't want to be there much less have to deal with you. The hotel rooms are small and the beds uncomfortable, and there is no pool. They often send me free rooms which I choose not to even use. I wouldn't recommend this casino to anyone!!!! ]]> Tue, 15 Dec 2015 03:06:01 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Beyond disappointing]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2507310 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2507310 I was a regular at Harrah's and was a Seven Stars level in their Total Rewards program. I decided to try Hollywood Casino St. Louis last night and should have gone with my first instinct of walking out as soon as I walked in. The atmosphere was cold and uninviting. The decor when you first walk in looks like they were trying for Las Vegas glitz and ended up with nouveau riche bad taste. The employees walking around the casino floor all looked depressed or unhappy. I was there for almost 2 hours before I even saw a waitress who was actually the only person who I thought gave me a real smile. I was playing $1 slots ($3/pull). In 2 hours I lost $900. Now, I'm not one who thinks I'm not going to lose my money eventually, but my experience in this depressing atmosphere was definitely not worth $450 an hour. No one around me was doing any better. It was bad enough that I feel cheated. I won't be back unless I hear they've made major changes and I certainly won't recommend this casino to anyone. It's too bad, because when Harrah's was running it I really enjoyed the place and the people. I'll miss it. ]]> Tue, 13 Jan 2015 16:28:04 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Coldest Slots I've Ever Played]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2506252 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2506252 I have gone to Hollywood three times since they took over from Harrah's and I can definitely say they have lowered the payout on the slots to a pathetic level. I spoke to several regulars who all said the same thing. When it was Harrah's at least you could win enough to play for awhile. Not so at Hollywood. The drink and change people seemed really unhappy and that is the general vibe at Hollywood now. It's just not any fun. Look around before you waste any money in their slots. Nobody was winning on a Saturday night and most of the people I saw playing had less than $50 on their machines. Very disappointing. I used to go about twice a month but I will not return to Hollywood. I started going across the highway because it just isn't worth it at Hollywood. ]]> Tue, 12 Feb 2013 01:05:12 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Not up to standard]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2506124 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2506124 I've been a long time fan of Hollywood Casinos. The Tunica facility is far the best. Aurora was good once during the first couple years of their operation but success ruined the generosity of their comps. I had high hopes for their take over of the St.Louis casino from Harrah's. So far I am underwhelmed. I was there on the first weekend and they definitely did not have their act together. The meager $3 free slot play comp did not work. The cashier cage near the table games was not open--only the cashier in the slot only section would redeem chips (and of course no chips were used in the slot area). No $5 tables were available, so we left and went to Ameristar. Very sad showing. I'll try one more time, giving them the benefit of just starting up. I do not hold out much hope. ]]> Wed, 21 Nov 2012 15:21:37 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: OK Casino]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505687 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505687 A little out of the way near St. Louis. The games were hopping. And they did have some $5 blackjack. The dealers were nice. And I won which is always a plus. The gift shop was closed by 10, and the snack shops by 11. I guess they pull up the sidewalks early here. ]]> Wed, 20 Jun 2012 02:31:23 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: buffet]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505485 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505485 My family and i were traveling from Twin Falls, Idaho to Lexington,Kentucky. we thought it would be a treat to have a nice meal at Harrah's buffet, we were very disappointed. The food cost us $25.00 a person, the food was cold and mostly dry. We were seated after about 20 minutes of trying to explain to the girl who was taking our money thay it was sinple to count out a $100.00 bill. We went to get our food which was the lousiest meal i have ever eaten, in fact we left most of it. We had to wait for another 30 minutes before we were asked if we needed a drink refill, then when we went to get dessert we were told that it was all closed up and was being thrown in the garbage. It seems to me if they were getting close to time for closing up they should have explained this to us. We have better buffets and more caring waiters in our little town of Jacpot, Nevada. I will not recommend your Harrah's to anyone that asks how it was.W have been to the one in Las Vegas and it was a lot better than your's, so no we won't go back to your Harrah's. ]]> Mon, 23 Apr 2012 04:40:04 +0000 <![CDATA[Hollywood Casino St. Louis: Harrah's $2.29 leap year day]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505299 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/missouri/hollywood-casino-st-louis.html/discussions/2505299 Today is Leap Year day. Harrahs St. Louis had their buffets all day for $2.29 and anything in the snack bar inside the casino for $2.29. Needless to say they were quite busy. My husband & I chose to eat at the snack bar, it was a good deal and it was not that long to wait. We were there about 5 p.m. and the line for the buffet was already 3 hours long, sorry the buffet isn't that good. Slots for me were not very good today, one would think they would be as busy as they were. Let me say, the snack bar employees were so nice and gracious. I do not know if I could have been that pleasant with as many hungry people that they were waiting on. ]]> Thu, 01 Mar 2012 01:30:50 +0000
