Clean and decent view. Food was from bad to excellent. The meal I had in the cafe, chicken parmesan was burnt, the pasta side car out of a can and the garlic bread was cold. Service was slow. The buffet was acceptable. Farraday's was excellent. Highly recommended. Gaming was enjoyable. Dealers and pit were friendly and helpful. I had been here a couple of times pre-Katrina and liked it but this time was the best of all.

The place was crowded but not offensively so. The food in all the restaurants was terrific and the prices were very reasonable.

I had an upper-level room that overlooked a peaceful body of water. I played cards in the poker room and found the players friendly and not out for blood. I also played in a couple of tournaments where the entry fee was $45.00 which was not bad at all for the amount of time I played.

I got to the final table both times and made back my entry fees. Before The Storm, the Isle had downgraded previously decent 9/6 Jacks or Better games and kept only the quarter games. It had also knocked down its cashback for video poker from around .35 percent (depending on the machine) to around .25 percent.

Since the re-opening in December of 2005, the Isle has increased its 9/6 JoB games, installing quarter and dollar Game Kings and Triple Play/Five Play for quarter, 50-cent and dollar games.

The Isle has maintained its .25 percent CB for VP.

But the Isle doesn?t have a blackjack game to brag about. It still has way too many 8-deck tables, no resplitting of aces, and the evil 6-to-5 single-deck game.
