HOTEL WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2509248 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2509248
I am only giving one star since it forces me to. We stayed at Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel for the first and last time over Memorial weekend May 26th,2018 departing on May 27th,2018. The morning of May 27th both my husband and myself woke up with "bites" on our ankles and calves, we disregarded these bites as mosquito bites since we were walking in town along the water. When we arrived home on the 27th without thinking twice our luggage went into our room and placed on our bed to unpack. Now, two days later we start waking up with these same suspicious bites that we awoke with the morning of our hotel stay. This went on for a week before we started putting two and two together....I went to my PCP and it was verified that the bites on my legs were indeed "bed bug bites" , we immediately went home and inspected our bed (let me add that we have lived in our home for 7 years and had the same bed/mattress the entire time) to our surprise and pure disgust we discovered a colony of bed bugs in all stages of life on our mattress, bed frame and box spring. I of course panicked and immediately had an exterminator out to our home who of course verified our worst nightmare and now reality. We have set up a week long prep time to get our home ready for the exterminators to perform a bed bug treatment to our home and might I add this service was quoted to us for $1,200.00 and has been paid and scheduled for this coming Tuesday. Now, after giving all our information to the exterminators on how this could possibly occur to us we stated that we have only stayed at one hotel in the past 4 months and that was Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel, they immediately advised me to contact the hotel and tell the of our situation which I of course did. I asked to speak with management who was not available at the time so they transferred me to customer service to leave a message for the hotel manager named Scott, the woman I spoke with was by no means shocked about my complaint and actually ended our conversation by saying " I will have Scott get a hold of you as soon as he gets in this afternoon, I am very sorry this happened to you." Very sorry this happened to me? that reply sure makes you think they are aware of this situation and not to mention the fact that Scott has yet to return my phone call! I have called 7x leaving voicemails on his personal phone line as well as with customer service personal that answer and transfer phone calls. I have left VERY detailed messages on Scott's voicemail stating our situation and our intent to book several rooms and that 2 of the exterminators ave agreed for us to pay them to travel to the hotel and examine rooms for bed bugs, I am now only to assume that this is the reason why Scott refuses to contact me. I have been very black and white with Scott with my intentions if he continues to refuse to contact me and to resolve this situation, I now have been forced to go over his head as well as make this situation known to the public. This is absolutely unacceptable as well as disgusting! I take great pride in my home and it is meticulous, unfortunately for innocent people who choose to stay at this hotel you to will be in our shoes. Between treating our home, destroying our mattress, box springs and bedroom set and missing work this has cost us thousands of dollars and all I requested from Scott was a phone call admitting responsibility and covering the exterminator bill. With Scott's avoidance to all my efforts to contact him it unfortunately now has turned into something bigger. Moral of this very long story is stay in Traverse City if you wish to go to the Casino DO NOT STAY IN THE DIRTY RUN DOWN BUG INFESTED HOTEL! Rick and Lisa W

<![CDATA[Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel: not casino to win]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2509109 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2509109
I have been going to this casino for over 20 years and it has really gotten to be an awful place to go to have a night of fun. The slot machines are so tight your money is usually spent within the first hour. Spin after spin no win, and if you do hit something it is usually what they call a false win which means if you bet 1.00 you hit something and it pays you .18 cents. You didn't win in reality you lost .82 cents. This place use to be packed full of people laughing and having a good time, now there is a hand full of people there on any given night who are depressed and grumpy. Since they have built the new casino the have reduced employees, reduced winning, reduced cleanliness, reduced quality of their food, reduced entertainment, reduced customer satisfaction, but have added to their bottom dollar. No longer do you see anyone hit a jackpot or even anyone getting hand paid. If there is a few slot machines that might possibly pay a little they will replace them usually with machines that cost more to play and pay a lot less. The amount of people that have been there the last few times i have visited tells me that the community is catching on and taking their hard earned money someplace that they can actually enjoy themselves. It use to be if you went on a Friday or Saturday night you had a hard time finding a machine to play on because they were so packed. Now you can go there and at least 75% of the machines are sitting empty. One day soon there will be so few visitors that they will be forced to shut their doors.

We are locals. Use to go often but no more. This is the tighest casino you've ever seen. A few years ago you could go for the evening and not come out feeling like they took all your money in an hour. Not anymore. If you do hit a bonus round on slots the payout is very low. I've played$5.00 a spin before and for nothing or a couple dollars. Use to be staff all over the place. Now it's hard to find anyone to help if you need something. The air vents use to keep the smoke down. Not anymore. It's harder to breath in there. Food is not cheap and not good. Regulars i know we use to see all the time now drive a long way to go to other casinos. They have so many promotions going on. We feel like they don't let us hit at all so they can give a little money to people that get their names drawn. It use to be packed on weekends. Now Friday nights people come and leave in no time because they lose their money so fast. Seems like most are tourists that don't know better. They change out the games all the time and put in new ones that you have to play higher at. I don't play tables but most aren't open. It's cold in there. Always had been. I'm glad the locals have opened their eyes. Now the tourist need to.

Play $5 get a $7 bonus, twice...largest bonus playing $5 a spin. Play small .50-$1 all bonuses under $5. Poker room staff not friendly unless you are a local. However security is good. Didn't seem any smokier than any other casino, been to many many others in my lifetime, this has to be one of the tightest I have ever been in my life. Has a cool modern feel to it (not typical northern MI). There are updraft ventilation units on the floor that seem to cut down on the smoke level. Tables were mostly $10, no full pay Video Poker to be found. Did not stay in a room, but I heard they are all clean and modern as expected in a new property. ]]> Tue, 25 Oct 2011 20:22:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel: Casino 2 Win]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2504221 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2504221 The All-New Turtle Creek Casino.....they always keep their casinos towards the cutting edge of design - their previous casino wasn't really that old but like Vegas they tore it down and built an even better (but a fair amount smaller) casino with a nice hotel attached now. A very nice selection of slot machines and quite a few that you can play for a while and not lose your shirt. Of course every casino has some lemons and some cherry machines.....but overall you seem to get more bang for your buck at Turtle. They have a couple extra random "jackpot" events that happen hourly, daily, or monthly for an extra $20-$1000 or more in e-credits. They have all the classic machines like Sizzling 7's, Red White & Blue, 5x Pay, etc and some nice modern machines as well. They add or change machines on a monthly basis at least so it keeps the place fresh and more exciting than the average place down the road. I would like to see a few machines that other places have like Wild Cherry Pie or Bonus Spin Red White & Blue (Little River has both) but overall 4 out of 5 stars for slots. Table games are very fair - all blackjack tables are shuffled by hand - they offer 2 deck pitch and 6 deck shoe games with pretty good rules - you can double after split except aces - split up to 4 times - and the overall rules are good. The dealers are almost all very friendly and knowledgeable about their positions. They recently moved all table games to one section of the casino instead of two and it is more "organized" now. And they have the biggest poker room in N. Michigan with 10 tables and tournaments at least 5-6 nights a week. 5 out of 5 stars for a good job on all table games. Customer Service/Players Club is quite good as well. They reps will actually show they care about your business and for example if you go to get a replacement players card - they will tell you oh did you know you have $10 in free promo cash on your card.....they will just do the little extras to make you feel welcome and that they care. Then can be a bit tight with comps - overall they will treat you fairly well but once and a while they will tighten up on comps briefly. But with average blackjack play or slot play you can expect a nice discount or free meal depending on your play level. Overall a pretty good job and about 4.2 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere is great in the new location - with their huge waterfall - and if you look down from the hotel lobby or go up to the 3rd floor you can look down over the entire gaming floor and it is a nice view and one you will not see at any other casino in N. Michigan. The coffee shop is on the 3rd floor as well as a couple gift shops and the Level 3 Nightclub. But the overall feeling of the place is quite nice - exciting lighting - just a good overall feeling while you are playing. About perfect - 5 out of 5 stars. From the outside the Hotel looks as amazing as the rest of the building. Too bad it stops there. Don't get me wrong it is a nice hotel - it is quite clean (although for example around the bed you will find just a fine line of dust about 1/8" wide) where the vacuum can't quite get to the base of the beds. I know it is picky - but the rooms are well over $100 a night retail price and should be close to perfect. One time there was 2 dead bugs in the lamp next to the chairs in the room. And for example the countertop in the bathroom has a flat finish on it - and in 2 rooms I have seen rings on the counter "set in" that come from people's drinks or what have you which looks unclean (it really is clean) but it looks dirty in certain light. And surprisingly even less than 1 year after it was open there was paint chipping off the doors to the rooms - and some dings and dents on the walls. Overall though nice - and quite clean - the sheets and bedding is clean and soft. The bathroom is standard but quite nice. Flat screen tv's and overall quite nice just looks a little "beat up" for only being a few years old now. Room service is available for a middle price - about $12-15 for a decent breakfast but the food is quite good. 4 out of 5 stars. Finally the restaurants & bars are very good. Burbon's 72 the fine dining steakhouse is great. Only once right after they opened we waited 30 minutes to be waited on after being seated right away and decided to walk away. They were not busy - only about 3 customers that night - but nobody would come out to take your order. Since then though service has been top notch along with the food. The Season's buffet is the middle priced place and they have an excellent buffet. Seafood including crab legs on the weekends, they have an Asian section that is fantastic including their teriyaki chicken is the best I have tasted. Priced at $19.95 or under (and additional discounts with a players club card) it is a great value for what you receive. Finally The Deli is their lower priced 18 hour a day restaurant and that is the one place that is a bit lacking. Service is just average - the burgers are nothing special - prices are a bit high for what you receive and food is only average. The bars are built around 2 large television towers and are quite nice - many monitors showing your favorite games, etc. Staff is very nice and will get whatever you desire. Overall, if not for The Deli it would be 5 out of 5 stars - but we will say 4 out of 5 counting all food and drink. Turtle Creek is a great place to check out - see the nice waterfall - hopefully not lose your shirt - have some fun and entertainment all in a modern fun atmosphere. ]]> Sun, 10 Jul 2011 05:45:51 +0000 <![CDATA[Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel: Best blackjack in Michigan]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2502496 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/michigan/turtle-creek-casino.html/discussions/2502496

The wife and I went there last week for the first time and had a good time. She played $20 on slots for 1-2 hours before she had to open the wallet again. Blackjack there is great, all the tables were $5 min except one at $25 min. It looked like they used 6 decks, there cut off card was 90% in and they shuffle them by hand in front of you. There's no rush there, they tell you to go walk around and relax while they shuffle and get ready for the next round. That's the best blackjack in Michigan and Las Vegas for me.

I played some slots too and theie blackjack would let you split and double down not like four winds which is so tight you can't do anything but keep putting money in. Their player's club gave you nothing for signing up which I thought was a bit tight. I didn' use the hotel and restaurants.

Of the 6 Michigan casinos I visited 3 weeks ago (others = Chip In , Kewadin St Ignace, Kewadin Sault St Marie, Leelanau Sands & Four Winds) driving through upper & lower Michigan, I liked this one the most.

Brand new large casino with high ceiling & nice selection of slot machines. I was only there ~ 4hrs & only played slot machines. I did not see the hotel or try any resaurants, but I would definitely play here again.

It was not as big as the Four Winds, but was more enjoyable as it wasn't overcrowded like the Four Winds.
