There games are set meaning they are set to lose and win on specific days I have a lot of photos of hitting the same thing on a machine on 2 separate days and took picture wasn't paid out the same.
Upon my visit I found the casino too small, the machine were placed too close to the tables. The food was like eating at a fast food joint, nothing fancy at all. It was very smoky, like playing and eating in an ashtray.
The slots were most stingiest I have ever played, and you have to wait quite awhile just to get a seat at a card table.
Considering other places in the area, I'd rather spend my money and time at Firekeepers.
Gun Lake Casino offers as much of a variety as possible with their slot machines. Table games are very limited and there are no $5 blackjack tables. Players must wager higher denominations, even if just learning how to play. Customer service was very good, the best experience we had there was how nice the team members were and offered to cash tickets where we were sitting, instead of looking for a cashier or kiosk. The players club seemed to be the biggest joke. The people seemed very fake and unhappy. You must earn 5,000 pts (play $5,000) give/take to get only $5 in rewards or free play? There is no privacy for high rollers, I noticed "stalkers" watching the high limit players. There is NO hotel. The nearest location is at least 10-15 minutes away. The food wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. The prices were good for the amount of food and quality of food we received. I was very disappointed with our visit, and we will not be traveling another two hour drive to visit here again. Also, the slot machines are very tight. We ended up leaving short over $470 after starting with $500.
Because Gun Lake is only 35 min from my house I was naturally drawn there. However it has turned out that the 8-10 trips to this casino has totally caused me to want to give up gaming entirely! I had the fortunate(or perhaps unfortunate) opportunity to win a $450 and $250 jackpot there plus a few smaller amounts but I have succeeded in losing all of that and much more in my pursuit of that life changing jackpot at this casino! I have never been to a casino that has so little to offer. I concur with the other reviewers the smoke is atrocious and the amenities are lacking. Food is pretty sad and limited. Because I have seen a few people win here I think it could happen to me! Ha not over the long run. I am constantly walking the floor looking for a machine that might pay. I go back to the machines I have played before and they appear to be different machines...tighter and no fun what so ever. I just had a really bad session this week here and I must vow to never return before I lose any more money that I can't afford to lose. I just returned from Las Vegas too and had a couple of nice wins there...I don't ask for much would be happy to break even and just play on my winnings. Well I have to face the facts...it will never happen at Gun Lake casino. Why is it so busy? I don't get it! And during their giveaways it is impossible to find a decent machine!
I look forward to not beating myself up on the return drive home from this casino ever again!!
I started going to Gun Lake in July 2015. A buddy of mine have frequented the casino numerous times since then and are finally done. I'm not a big slot machine player, however I can honestly say I've never been "up" playing slots there. No big deal, slot machines are terrible odds as it is. Black jack and roulette are my games of choice. I would hate to say the place is rigged, but the frequency which the dealer pulls 21 off a crappy up-card or draws 5 cards to make a hand is utterly astounding. I get its gambling and the risk of losing is always there, but the frequency which the players lose is just incredible. The dealers and bosses are great, as well as the ladies behind the bar, but I won't ever gamble here again. Gun Lake is a complete joke in that regard.
