I have gone to greektown for about 5 yrs now and really like the casino, people and over all service!! I then started going to MGM Detroit back in may and have gone there more then greektown the lasts 5 months but now I know why I like greektown better then MGM. I have hit a few nice jack pots at MGM but the people including staff are totally rude, There is always people play the slots I like and it seems like its always the same people for hours on end playing, Not to mention they play 2 slots at once. Its frustrating as hell so now I will be going to back to greek town!!
This is my favorite of the 3 casinos in the city of Detroit. Generally, this place has lower limits, and is a good place to play table games, slots, and watch a game. It’s located near some great restaurants in Detroit, and the buffet at Greektown is a great choice for lunch or dinner. They usually have a promotion going on for slot club members, such as unwrapping a candy bar to win various freeplay amounts, etc. There is a People Mover stop at Greektown, so it’s a great place to park to shuttle over to a Red Wings or Tigers game as well.
I love the cozy small casino feel of Greektown. I have not stayed in the hotel but have been to this casino over 50 times. Greektown has the latest slots and a decent comp program. Comps can be redeemed from a kiosk machine and are very easy to use. This place can get very busy on a Sunday when the Detroit Lions are playing a home game. Everyone uses the parking garage to park for free during the game. The food options here are not the best. If you are in the mood for a clean, fun, and enjoyable time this would be my casino of choice.
When I can't go to Vegas, I have to stick with my favorite local casino, Greektown. This is a great casino to hangout, kill some time before a Detroit Tigers or Lions game and then ride the public transportation (we call it the "People Mover") over to Comerica Park or Ford Field. Greektown features a decent buffet, a nice selection of VP, and table games where the minimums usually start at $10. I have not stayed at the hotel yet, but have heard great things about it. Greektown is my favorite out of the 3 Detroit casinos.
We just visited the new and improved Greektown and was really impressed. There are loads of new machines including many one and two cent slots. I even played a three cent machine.
The buffet was only $20 and it was fabulous!!! They are running a special right now in that all rooms are $39.99 anytime. That will get me up there again. I usually go to Windsor only because it is non smoking but it truly wasn't that smokey at all. I will go back to Greektown again.
