Most people will love the casino for its restaurants, Buffet, and location.  For those of us that are Maryland residents, taxpayers, and who voted to bring the casino in that promised to improve schools, roads and offer career opportunities; are disappointed beyond measure.
Those of us that frequent the casino and love playing the slots are finding that the machines are very, very tight and by the time you win a jackpot; you haven't even recouped the money the machines have collected over time.  The gaming commission and the state of Maryland should be ashamed at how they are gouging its patrons and how they are punishing those that do not play even more often than they can afford.  They remove and decrease promotional rewards if its card holders do not or can not afford to play during the weeks and months.  They decrease rewards if you do not invest thousands during the month.  They collect on holidays and there are never winners during those long weekends.  One of my roadies lost her job 3-years ago and could not afford to bet the max on her favorite slots.  When she had to choose between medicines, food, and paying household bills, she chose to opt out of homelessness.  Maryland Live rewarded her by downgrading her platinum card to gold, decreasing her free play coins from $75 to $15 or $0; and eliminating her food credits.  She has not hit a substantial jackpot at Maryland Live in 3-years and we frequent the casino every weekend.  I should have had a Black Card by now - but because I'm spending thousands and not millions - I don't qualify..smh.

Unlike its competitors, Maryland Live does not set it's slot machines to payout.  The slots are very, very, very tight.  You can sit and feed the machines for hours, playing the max, only to discover that they are set on "collect." No matter what time of day, whether its weekdays or weekends, Maryland Live slots do not payout.  The bonuses are rare and when you are lucky enough to get 20 bonus spins; they pay $4, $6 with no combinations that would pay a couple of hundred and additional bonuses are rare as well.  I have had 42 bonus spins and the machine did not payout $60.  I've watch a black card hold get over 400 bonus spins and only got $60.  How is that possible?  Is this coincidental for a "cash cow" that collects $50 million dollar a month - I doubt it.  With their junior, giant jackpots, and annoying recording of so called "another jackpot winner...so keep play,” we; the patrons, have concluded that it’s a recorded lie. The lack of wins has taken the fun out of playing the slots for me. The complaints are the same all over the casino - slots don't payout, serve sucks and beverages are as hard to get as wins on the slots.  There's a period of time when the beverage servers disappear for hours.

Maryland Live is the worst thing that has happened to the state of Maryland.  I regret   voting to bringing that casino to this great State.  Even though I doubt that I'll be missed because the casino has a lot of suckers like me...I can't wait for MGM to open.  Until then - my roadies and I will not be setting foot back in Maryland Live so I guess when they realize that I haven't been there just giving them my hard earned money - I can expect my status to be downgraded as well.

Worst casino ever.

Admittedly I'm biased as I think the slots should have gone to the race track and not at a mall (which I no longer use).

I used to play occasionally, blow my $100 at Charlestown, and be done with it for the next three months. I've visited Arundel slots 4 times, I'll go in with $20 and that's it, won $20 and $12 in two sittings, lost $20 each other time. Twice, a slot machine has printed a ticket that would not be accepted by other machines, or the automated cash-out, so I had to go to the cashier.

Before I went to the cashier, however, I tried to stop one of the attendants in a yellow coat. Although he was attending to someone else at the time, he brushed into me (what I consider a threat) and when he see I wouldn't move he addressed my question. Totally unacceptable. I'm 5'7" a senior, this thug is about 6'2" and he has the audacity to to act like this? I'm also retired military and I did not do 20 years to be treated with such lack of dignity.

After that, I went to the cashier, the place opens a 0800, they were not able to redeem my ticket until 0830; I probably had a 15 minute wait.

I'll most likely go back as I'm addicted. I limit my playing time to $20 once a week which is $1000 per year and an acceptable loss.

Bottom line, if there is another casino convenient to you, go there. This place sucks.

Their slot machines don't pay..played $5 and $10 slot machines and nothing all night long..from 8:00pm to 3:00am..absolutely nothing..I am not coming back here. Do yourself a favor and don't play any slots at this place...you have no chance to win..just deposit your cash because nothing is coming back to you. Maryland Live is partly owned by the government. MD government takes about 49.25% from slots machine and 33% goes to casino operator. Last month, $31 million dollars on slots. Table games..80% goes to casino operators and 20% profit goes MD government. January 2015, table games grossed at $18 million. This is why MD Live and Hollywood Charles Town is trying get more table games or Live Events.
Now you get it... Politicians knows how to take your money. If you do win, you have to pay more than 35% gambling tax..think about it...either way..Maryland Live has a huge advantages ..don't get trapped into their hype...believe me..at the end, everyone will be losers. Horseshoe in Baltimore is not doing so good and Caesars is going to file for bankruptcy. I stop going to Charlestown and Maryland Live or any Casinos because they all got too greedy with their machines. Sooner or later, gamblers will learn they all took the wrong road. Just save your hard earned money..if you want to blow it...donate to your community or save your money. Not a sermon..Just a thought.

If you do not arrive early expect to wait hours to enter the casino, being that many are attempting to see what the hype is about. The location is convenient; however,it should have not been approved for its location: the mall is always packed, and traffic is always congested in the evening (major hubs 100, 295, dump into Arundel Mills Blvd). The grand opening was a nightmare, over 30k people attempting to enter a two-three lane blvd into mall (cops stopped answering calls). Note on safety, Arundel Mills always draws a rougher crowd, this past winter someone was shot and killed in the parking lot, this is not the first time. In fact, most locals no to keep an eye out if they go near that mall, lot of fights, scanner can be interesting on weekends. Forward, the Casino staff is incompetent, and inexperienced, it took forty five minutes for a slot machine tech to arrive and fix the machine: they do not offer free sodas from a machine, you have to wait and find a cocktail waitress (very few of them at that). Payout on slots, you kidding? To give you an idea, I have been there twice and both times, all of the ATM's were out of cash, I repeat all of the ATM's were out of cash. I have noticed the slots manager is a rookie, for the looser (Dare I say) are placed in the most obvious of areas,in other words where people can see you, by the food court, center of X in pathway... As far as bell ringers I have not heard or seen any: had several people swear they would not return, they claim they are heading back to DE casinos. Most people I noticed were in and out of Casino in thirty minutes, they blew their limit. There appear to be a few loose ones in the bunch, but the casino is too new to verify, in general follow the oldest rules: low max payout, low line combo, and you are likely to find the loose one, and sometimes it's right in a center of a row. By loose, do not expect to collect a nice amount, just enough to play for a few hours. In general, save your money go to Vegas, if not an option, I have noticed Dover Downs loosening their slots recently, actually starting to payout again! Finally, I would not recommend this casino, parking is a nightmare, long lines: it reminds me of Charlestown, slots are tight, but find the gem and you may hit a jackpot or play for a few hours.

Four security guys taking five minutes to read a young woman's ID while lines are backing up. Desk staff that is clueless. They are poorly trained and don't know about promotions that are emailed to card holders that day. They would also prefer to argue with you over attempting to solve a problem. I purchased a drink at the bar the other night and sat there for forty-five minutes without anyone returning to my side of the bar. They're a joke. Can't wait for MGM !!!!
