My wife an I drove over 150 miles(one way) today to play a couple of hours of slots .on arrival to the parking lot we were met by security an was told where we were in a (24 foot) camper we was not aloud to park in the parking lot (we were in an outer lot with very few cars in it ) an stay over nite ,that was ok I know that before I went .i asked if we could park an play for a couple of hours an the said no we would have to park somewhere else.we had to leave ,very unfriendly As a business owner if I treated my customers like that I would be out of business! Thank you Oxford for a frustrating day
My husband and I were on vacation during the 4th of July holiday. We have visited casinos in many states. We live in CT and have played many times at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. I don't understand why people were complaining about this casino. It might be smaller than Mohegan & Foxwoods but I found it to be a nice casino. Don't think that the casinos in CT pay out big time. Over the past few years, the machines have been paying out less and less. This was the first time we visited the Oxford Casino and I hit really good on a slot machine. This is the most money I have every won in any casino, no matter what state. My husband also had a good hit but not as good as mine. The attendant had to come and pay out my money, he was very friendly and attentive. I have no complaints and would go back again soon...
First of all I'd say this casino as far as gambling goes is better than Montreal/Charlevoix for few reasons.
- You are allowed to drink in the gaming area
- $5 craps
- Low table minimums
- More recent slot machines
However, the casino lacking a hotel is problematic for travelers like me. The surrounding area does not have many restaurants or hotels.
The premises are very clean and modern. Big parking lot. Nice building too.
I did not find game king slot machines, so no blackjack, video poker or keno.. ? I suggest you call first and make sure they have the games you like.
I saw 1 craps table, 6x blackjack, 2x let it ride, 1x 3 card poker, 1x hold'em, 1x roulette. I am maybe missing one. They need a baccarat table bad for the Asian customers who love to play it. I understand they are expanding so we have to be patient.
The casino restaurant is fine as it is now for good reasons. The casino just opened, so they can't have a 10 page menu. They have pizza, pasta, burgers... phily cheesesteak was great.
Dealers are courteous but I have seen many mistakes over only a few hours at the BJ tables and Craps. Stickman was very fast, but I am a slow player :)
I will definitely travel to this location again ! Hopefully they keep allowing drinking and the low table minimums.
