Had been going there for 4 years just because it was close to home. Over priced drinks and food. Lousy inexperienced dealers. Slots that don't pay out. Dont waste your time and money. Bangor is way better.
I have gone 10 times and never won once. Payouts when a put 100 dollars were anywhere from 65 to 80 percent. Well below the so called 89% that the state allows. Save your money and go to either Bangor Hollywood slots or Foxwoods.
It's been a hopeful five years , hopeful that just once I'd do better than break even. The games average no more than 30.00 payout for bonuses but frequency is terrible. Many say they just want some machine action but the machines are set so tight that they turn less than a quarter of their rotation, making for a fixed outcome. I try to pick looser machines and only lost. 800.00 last night, pretty good it's usually more and I'm not alone in this , it has done one thing, making me realize how I don't want to support that industry anymore , I've contributed enough, those new hotels are expensive.
Talk to anyone who gambles there frequently, there is no way, NoWay to win , tightly set machines offer no wins more than 30.00, tonight I lost 800.00 , again. Saying to myself this can't be, this machine is full of money, I know it was mine, it has to pay out soon.... Don't hold your breath, when you come up for air you lose every time, talk to the regulars and they will all say breaking even at Oxford is like a win in another casino... It can't be done!
This casino is overall a bad experience. The machines payout horribly! It's been open for about 4 years and the largest payout they have had is 80,000. REALLY!! I was there recently and this poor old man about 85 had sat at a machine. The prior patron had left some credits in it and walked away. This elderly man put his money in and began to play. Immediately they had their security make him cash out and redeem his ticket to give him back what was later learned to be about 30. REALLY this guy had no idea there was money in it. They made a complete fool out of this man. This casino is nothing but a bad cancer in the hills of Maine. It was built on the promise of a four season resort and many jobs but as soon as the owners got the games turned on (no hotel or anything else started), they dumped it to Churchhill Downs. The machines are extremely tight and this casino had been reprimanded for not paying out the state payout requirements. We have recently formed a watch dog group to expose this in the media. It's shady and not WICKED GOOD FUN as they claim. They also recently changed their slogan to Southern Maines Casino because there is talk of a third one going in (in actual southern Maine). This is them trying to get people to vote against it thinking there is already one here. The real slogan should be "Oxford Casino... DEAD SPINS, NO WINS"
