This Elderado Casino was just lovely! Three floors of gaming, elegantly appointed - what a pleasure! Was actually staying at Sam's Town next door, so didn't partake of any amenities. ]]> Sun, 06 Oct 2019 05:45:39 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Shocked!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2507419 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2507419 We visited Eldorado for the fifth time in about 7 months last week. While we there a housekeeping employ pushed the door to our room open without knocking. We had the do not disturb card in the door and a loud fan going. I had the door cracked with the lock at the top because my husband was fixing to go get ice. I called the front desk and was told I would get a call back. No one ever called so I decided to mention it to management (Davina) as we checked out the next day. After I told her what happened she said it could have been the bathroom fan going and I said no mam you can not mistake this fan for a bathroom fan. We call it the hurricane maker. She then made her eyes very small and cocked her and fixed a dead stare into my eyes and proceeded to stare at me for at least a a full minute. Then she said "can I finish?" This upset me because she did it to make me uncomfortable. If you can't handle a polite interruption to correct a mistake you shouldn't be a manager! So I asked to speak with someone else and I got Tina. Tina told me everything would be handled and dealt with and that Davina should not have acted that way. So we went to lunch but I was just so upset by the way Davina had treated me that when we left I asked to talk to Tina again. I told her I was very upset. We patronize Eldorado almost exclusively and have spent thousands there in the last 7 months. She said she understood and would handle it. As I was leaving a lady stopped me and said she was Stacy from the ambassador room and that Tina had asked her to find me and talk to me because I was very upset. I told her the whole story and she seemed understanding and apologetic. She asked if we were staying so she could do something for us to make up for the way I got treated. I told her we were on the way out. She told me to call her personally when we wanted to come back do she could handle our reservation. So imagine my utter SHOCK when we got certified mail from Eldorado today from the security investigator saying we were permanently EVICTED from the resort. NO reason was given. I called and Tina acted shocked and said she would find out what's going on. I waited and didn't get a call back so I called the security director Mr Patton who said he didn't have any idea why he was told to send is that letter. He said he gets directives from the assistant general manager Mr Urland on who to ban. MR Urland never once spoke with is about what happened. I may have gotten slightly loud but I was not threatening, violent or using bad language. We have never done anything there except show up, spend lots and lots of money then leave. Thus is the first and only time I have ever complained to them. So go on and give them your money but don't dare complain to them about anything and certainly don't get upset and raise your voice a little when management treats you like trash after you have spent thousands there! ]]> Fri, 20 Mar 2015 05:58:49 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: It was a good day out]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2507232 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2507232 First time visiting Louisiana, the casino is HUGE! I unfortunately didn't have the time to roam around to see all of it since I just sat at the blackjack table and didn't get up until six hours later, did lose a bit but I had a great time and that 6 hours of playing earned my dad, brother in law and me food comps, we ate at the diner. Food was good. A shoutout to james the pit boss he was very nice and had a smile on his face and the blackjack dealers were also good and kind, waitresses for drinks came by about in between 10-15 minutes which was ok to my liking...there's just one thing that I don't like about this casino....it's too far away from Texas!......but anyways I had a great time. ]]> Sun, 30 Nov 2014 08:14:03 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Table games wrong?]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2506225 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2506225 They have no PAIGOW POKER and been since 2005 that they did. Glad to see you deleted that in their listing. ]]> Mon, 28 Jan 2013 22:22:54 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Best Shreveport has to offer]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2505613 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2505613 This is still the best for VP although just a marginal play. We enjoy the open feel and actual cash back on our play. 1/8 of 1 percent isn't anything to write home about though. Still, won $4K last trip and even brought some home. We well try for the 4th of July to watch the Fire Works from our room. Wish they had a pool though! ]]> Sat, 02 Jun 2012 16:28:47 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: El Dorado Poker room Tournament]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2504205 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2504205 I just wanted to drop a review of my time at the El Dorado Casino last night. When I checked in I need a Player's card which after a wait Only 2 people working there I got and they Offer You Nothing But a card. I got my card and Registered for the Tuesday Night Poker Tournament. It was a Small tournament with only 31 Players but it was a good time. I think David who oversaw things did a good job though he seemed a little bothered at times. Things seemed to move along well. Drinks came by fairly often though sometimes you were wondering where the ladies were. Food and Gift shops are just Upstairs so what I Got I enjoyed though a bit of a walk it was Good Exercise. I played roulette while there and thought the wheels were tight as they did not pay me at all. Overall it was a Good time But Nothing more than that. ]]> Wed, 06 Jul 2011 16:30:41 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Things need to improve]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2503514 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2503514 I have been at Eldorado since its inception. I was extremely pleased with the establishment until this last year. Seems they are attracting people that do not play, but come for hourly drawings. I see people all of the time getting drinks, just sitting at the the slots and never playing. I have asked if they are playing and they say they are playing the machine. When I ask for assistance from slot personnel, I am told, " That person spends a lot of money here and I can't bother them." Well, I spend a lot of money, too. I'm tired of the brush off and will take my $$$ to Horseshoe. Horseshoe treats me better and I'm not bothered by the riff-raff that hoards machines while sucking down drinks and not playing. Seems like waitstaff is catering to relatives or something. The free-loaders don't even tip, so what's up with that? ]]> Wed, 08 Sep 2010 16:35:15 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Getting better each trip]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2501891 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2501891

Last visit was 9/26/08 thru 9/27/08. This place has really improved since I started coming here. Now I'd say this is the best property in the area to visit. What's best about the casino is the tall ceiling.

You can't even tell this is a riverboat. Using the escalators to move from floor to floor is great. You don't have to climb into a crowded elevator or stairwell unless you want to. You can even get a pretty good drink fairly easy here. Wait staff is kind too.

Hotel was great. Not too bad for the price too. We stayed on the 17th floor and it was easy to travel up and down at any time. Very clean and upscale. We will stay here again.

Sat. morning champagne brunch buffet was the best buffet I'd ever had at any of the casinos in the area. If you visit the Eldorado, the champagne brunch buffet is a must!

There was even shrimp on the buffet! All for $13.50

<![CDATA[Bally's Shreveport: Better Than Hollywood]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2501768 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/louisiana/ballys-shreveport.html/discussions/2501768 This place is the old Hollywood Casino building. They chaged the decor a little. The 24 hour cafe is over priced but good. It's crowded, even at 3am.

Table limits were too high for my pocket. Many slots but no real payout for anybody I saw.

The staff is nice and you can get a drink fairly easy. Be sure to tip good or you won't see her again.

Walking distance to Sam's Town. ]]>
