My wife and I took my mother-in-law to the Horseshoe for her birthday. It was the only thing she wanted. We arrived early, about 8:30 a.m. We valet parked, and the women working were helpful, offering to get my mother an electric cart. It cost $20 and arrived FILTHY and without a full charge on the battery. When we got into the casino, it too was FILTHY. The "cleaning" people I saw were busy socializing, using bad language, and trying to look busy. The machines were disgustingly filthy. We had lunch at the buffet, and the service was HORRIBLE. One drink, no refills, no one took dirty plates off the table, rude waitress and hostess. Oh, and my mother's cart died while we were there. Even though we won, it wasn't enough to ever go back, especially since there are other options. I really can't stress enough how bad it was. FOUR WINDS is worth the drive.

Staff is most courteous from the bottom to the top. Feels like your in a Vegas casino. Comps are good. Craft beer on tap selection is always superb. All the places to eat in the casino have great food and portions are big. Over the P.A. speakers, I always hear jackpots being hit every time I'm there. The people who work there are rude. The security are assholes. I am/was almost a daily visitor. But that's over. I'll go to majestic. I'm 40 years old and some punk kid is going to chase me down after security just waved me by and rudely tell me I have to go back and wait in line. The kid was probably 20yrs younger than me. And frankly the games suck! I think the cards are tampered with and when you request new decks you are very rudely told NO! I thought you needed patrons to keep your business running? Apparently not. We decided to go and have a good time at the Horseshoe to celebrate. While there my son left his cell phone at a slot machine. He returned to the machine about 10 minutes later and the phone was gone. We went to security and explained the urgency of finding the phone. Security found the person with the cell phone within the hour and returned it to my son. What a great security team. We don't usually win, however, we do get some entertainment value for our money. One bad thing is Indiana taxes jackpots for non-residents. We have a few favorite machines and would like to see some more quarter poker machines added. The Range Steakhouse is always good and the buffet is above average. I had sent an email in advance asking if motorhome parking was provided. The answer sent back was there was a lot across the railroad tracks in the AMTRAK parking lot. Using my GPS, I was able to find it without too much trouble. However, I had to walk across active railroad tracks and through the Valet area to get into the casino. Of course, there is also a big sign that says no pedestrians allowed. What I found as I entered was a large parking area on the first floor of the parking garage with a 20' high ceiling and a few staff cars parked. It would have more than held 15 to 20 RV's. I played for a while without too much success and then ate supper at the buffet. The view was nice looking out over the lake but the food was less than good quality. I sampled a number of dishes and really never found anything I would classify as good. After a while of additional futile playing slots, I gave up and left for the drive through Chicago. However, I plan to visit again next year as I make the trip. Buffet has good food and nice view of the harbor and Chicago in the distance. Deli was good too. Diamond Club is better than most. Table games and slots seem average. Sports bar is nice. Casino is large with a variety of tables and many slots. Cell phones work fine in the building - had been a problem in the past. Clean restrooms. Employees in general are very nice. Only down side is smoking is allowed everywhere. Stinky messy people have free reign. If the casino is crowded, you won't be breathing clean air.
