I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend away. The hotel is decent enough. I am not a smoker. To get to the non smoking section, you have to walk through the entire smoking section. I spent 30 minutes total in the casino and had to leave because my nose was burning and my throat was sore. I smell like an ashtray. Plus the slots in the non smoking section are all old. It is 9pm and I’m back in my room. So much for a fun weekend.
it amazes me to see such ignorant comments regarding the casino relating to winning. When you gamble, play the lottery, etc, there is no guaranteed win.... that's why its called GAMBLING!!!! if you go to the casino expecting to win, you are too stupid to breathe and therefore you SHOULD lose your money!!! Look at the place, do you think it was built on free money?? get a reality check or call the gamblers anonymous hotline if you think you are supposed to win when you gamble. yes, it's nice to win but you should not expect it. As far as the cigarette smoke, that is really bad, but again, you are in a casino, which is basically a gathering place for addicts. smoking, gambling, drinking... all addictive behaviors go together and again if you don't know that you are stupid
Found out that Hollywood has been fined for I paying out their share of winnings. The promo play is a joke because the slot machine always takes your money and doesn't give back. They are losing money and business due to the new casinos in Ohio. Two of which are theirs. Harrah's Casino is a much better casino with great comps. Hollywood in Indiana looks like a ghost town.
Beautiful facility. Greeted by friendly staff at the Player's Club booth. Excellent selection of slots - wide variety at most play levels. Floor layout made it easy to get around without the usual cramped and congested feel of some casinos. Arrived very early in the day with easy parking and minimal crowd. However, before 11AM the entire place stunk from cigerette smoke. I am not smoke sensitive and can usually tolerate being around smokers but this was terrible. There is a designated players area for smokers but it seems to be totally ignored as smokers roamed the entire casino and half filled ashtrays were just about everywhere. We cut our day trip short and left 4 hours earlier than planned just to get away from the horrific smoke smell. Drove half way back to Dayton with the car windows open to help get the stench from our clothes. Either the facility has insufficient ventilation or the air handlers were not working properly. I can see this casino taking a major hit when the 4 Ohio SMOKE FREE casinos are all up and running. Too bad they spent so much money building this beautiful facility and failed to spend a few extra bucks for some no smoking signs.
