I am someone that likes the sounds and sights of action and suspense. That is something that I get with Hollywood. You first walk in and it is immediate action. Weather it is at 10 in the morning on a Wednesday or 11pm on a Friday. I do not play slots that often so I cant comment on them. What I can comment on is the poker room and table games. I love the new poker room. All the dealers are friendly and knowledgeable about the game and ready to help you if you are trying a new game for the first time. This goes with the table games. I can stand and watch and the dealer will try to include me and ask me if I know whats going on and if I dont, teach me the game. Everybody is friendly and courteous (they want your money after all). I love this place and find it to be the best poker room in the state of Indiana. I am about to go to vegas for the first time and I am looking forward to it.
I have been to Hollywood approx 6 x`s in the past few months and have lost each time! We realized we didnt hear one jackpot bell go off. I had been there different times of day and night, nothing losing about 1 to 200 dollars a shot. T hose cards dont mean much either. My husband recieved a promotion thing in the mail and they would not honor it! I will go to Beltarra or try Live out. No more donations to Hollywood!
I went here for the first time, and loved it. I played the slots mostly and had a great time, I played the $1.00 slots only and won a little over $1,300 profit for the night. I broke even at the tables what short time i played them. The staff is very kind, helpful. The food is great. I will be returning again very soon.
I visited the casino on June 2010. While playing video poker, the machine went dark while in the middle of a hand and I lost the hand as well as the money. It took 20 minutes to get someone to look at it. They decided the machine was fine and refused to give me my $2.50 that was lost. I went to the cashiers desk to talk with a manager. Waited another 20 minutes. No one showed up even though they kept telling me they were on their way. I left the casino at that point. I even sent 2 emails the next day to them, no response. I am sure as more customers have to deal with their customer service, the patrons will become aware of how poorly this company is run. I informed all my friends, co-workers, and family about my experience. Word will get around in time about this company.
I look forward to going to the casino every year for my July vacation. I sometimes go in November too. I have done it for 6 years now. When it was the Argosy Casino I would play the slot machines and could win some decent money and have a GREAT time. I certainly didn't feel cheated when I left, even if I lost a little money. Last year when we went the second time that year, it was a real struggle to just make back our money we spent, minus food and drinks of course.
But this last time, I mean the last time, I have never won so many times and never got my initial bet back. Just like Wayne Smith, see below. I too played everything from a dollar to a penny and when I finally did win it wasn't even enough to cover the initial bet so you just kept losing a a slower pace. Guaranteed to lose it all though if you kept playing. We would usually win several $40-140 dollar tickets at the 2 cent slots a few years ago but this last time I had to keep cashing out at $20-40 just to try to recoup our loses. I cashed my 20 tickets in and none were worth more than $60 most were less than $20. I never got a Bonus out of $300 cash spent.
I went to Bogarts and it was their last night open and got a club sandwich which was served on regular bread that wasn't even toasted. It was "ok" .Pleasent and attentive waitress though.
We did see the waitresses on the floor more and we had someone emptying the trash, cups and butts often.
This used to be a fun place but I think we will have to see what happens in Ohio next year or maybe a different Indiana casino altogether. We won't be going back there.
