Beautiful facility. Greeted by friendly staff at the Player's Club booth. Excellent selection of slots - wide variety at most play levels. Floor layout made it easy to get around without the usual cramped and congested feel of some casinos. Arrived very early in the day with easy parking and minimal crowd. However, before 11AM the entire place stunk from cigerette smoke. I am not smoke sensitive and can usually tolerate being around smokers but this was terrible. There is a designated players area for smokers but it seems to be totally ignored as smokers roamed the entire casino and half filled ashtrays were just about everywhere. We cut our day trip short and left 4 hours earlier than planned just to get away from the horrific smoke smell. Drove half way back to Dayton with the car windows open to help get the stench from our clothes. Either the facility has insufficient ventilation or the air handlers were not working properly. I can see this casino taking a major hit when the 4 Ohio SMOKE FREE casinos are all up and running. Too bad they spent so much money building this beautiful facility and failed to spend a few extra bucks for some no smoking signs.

Went there w/family from out of state and was discriminated against based on age. All of us were over 21 but looked young. Not all of us were ID'd. The security guy would not accept a LEGIT North Carolina license. We were denied access even though we were all of age. Don't waste your time or money there. SUCH INCOMPETENCE!!!

Me and my husband visited the Hollywood in March 2012. As soon as we entered the casino the terrbile odor of smoke hit us. We proceeded to play the slots. What a waste of time! The penny slots actually cost about $8.00 a roll. If you do win at the slot machine you only win a fraction of your initial bet. All you do is lose at this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The only good thing this place has is the crab legs on Fridays. I cant wait until Cincinatti opens their casino. My advice to you is save the money you would spend at the Hollywood and wait until Cincinatti opens!

I have been going to Hollywood/Argosy for several years. Greeted by Security every time. Most Table game dealers are not talkative or friendly. ATM fee's just went up to $5.00........... They now have .50 chips in the poker room, because the house increased the rake. Rumor has it they fired several dealers because they were not taking the 50 cent chips and for the house. Always wait for a table during busy times. Cant wait for Cincinnati to open. Did I mention $5.00 ATM fee. Ridiculous. Never stayed in Hotel. Parking is always available.

I go to casinos more often than I should. That being said, when this was Argosy, I won often, say three times out of each 5 visits. Since changing to Hollywood, I win maybe one time out of 15 visits. What I notice the most is the unfriendly staff at Hollywood. The only people that ever speak to me are the guards at the entrance. I walk by staff people often, wearing suits or the floor staff outfits and NEVER do they smile or even look at me and NEVER speak! The comp system has finally changed, the old system was ridiculous, you could not find out how much you had until after you ordered your food. However, I cannot recall one time when I did not get whatever it was I was wanting. I was there a couple days ago and experienced the new comps system. After losing 150 bucks without hitting anything bigger than a cherry symbol, I had accumulated 46 cents in comps! I, for one, am looking forward to Harrah's new casino in Cincy. I know that the comps from Harrah's are extremely generous. I can lose a thousand bucks at Hollywood and still get 20 dollars in free slot play while Harrah's sends me 150 bucks. Also at Hollywood, you can never cash in two perks on the same day, if you have free slot play, it is not any good when the Mystery Cash day rolls around. How cheap can you get? Once Harrah's opens in Cincy, it is going to be BYE-BYE Hollywood for me.
