The new land based casino is attractive. The lighting is poor in some locations on the floor. Soft drink/ water is no longer self serve. Roaming servers are few and far between. I had to leave the craps table to purchase water when I waited over 1 hour for a server. Only one craps table open ( 1 of 3) with 11 people at the table and 5 waiting. It seems that they are not organized in the new location. The employees are not friendly and the table comps are muniscule.

Stay was nice but I have a few suggestimes. Why not have a golf cart to pick guest upost when they come in from parking garage to give them a ride to elevators for check in. I saw many older customers who were having a difficult time with the long walk. That cart could also give guests a ride to casino entrance. That walk is a killer for those of us who are up there in age and have bad knees. Just a thought. Thanks

<![CDATA[Bally's Evansville: Ruined Wedding Night]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2507693 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2507693 As a wedding gift my maid of honor booked a a room for the Groom and I to relax and enjoy after the reception. They secretly packed us a bag, and brought a comfy outfit for us to change. Fortunately, because how embarrassed we would have been in our wedding attire when the clerk failed to read the details of the booking and turned us away. Not before offering us a room at a rate higher then the original booking. Needless to say the romantic evening our friends had planned for us went down hill quickly. I feel terrible for my maid of honor, because she worked so hard to help us plan such a beautiful note and her gift to us was ruined by a careless clerk. I would not recommend scheduling an evening for anyone other than yourself because the hotel acted like it was not a big deal since they weren't charged. Very unprofessional!! ]]> Mon, 21 Sep 2015 20:47:54 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Evansville: slotsa are t-i-g-h-t!]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2507334 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2507334 like it, but when you go 5 times in a month and lose every time. Something is wrong with this picture. Machines very very tight. No wonder they are losing business. I can honestly give this review because My wife and myself have been patrons of this casino for the last several years, on a weekly basis on Saturday nights. When it first opened it was called Casino Aztar, we had tried it once in the beginning and did not care much for it. At the time in Metropolis Illinois,we had been playing at Players casino, Merv Griffin owned it, GOD REST HIS SOUL... It was a GREAT PLACE. I tell all of you this because we have been Players in the area since casinos have come into our area that are drivable distance, not requiring an over night stay. Just trying to give you some back ground here folks. Now that we've established we're players now lets get on with my HONEST review of this casino Tropicana formerly casino Aztar. In 2007 I had told casino host employees that we would be patrons to only their casino, looking back that was a BIG MISTAKE. Players casino had sold to Harrah's in Metropolis Illinois, and it was ok until they banned smoking on the boat. Having the bad habit, and not wanting to leave a slot to go outside to have a smoke, not fun in cold weather, we went to Evansville, it was casino Aztar then. We never had any luck, other than breaking even, after hours and hours of play, it was fun for awhile, but it seemed they would never cut loose for us. We won a couple of times, small amounts, but after years up there, NEVER NOT ONCE A JACKPOT PERIOD did we win, remember there is two playing. Now I don't want to come off like we're high rollers because we're not, we played responsible and could afford too. Several hundred a weekend many times more. I got to know all the employees, and after years of breaking even or losing every Saturday night we went up there, I started to complain. That started last year, coming from a military background I went through the chain of command so to speak. The ones I spoke with we're sympathetic to my concerns, but more less their hands were tied. And they know longer have JOBS there, including the previous GM Ward Shaw. Then I called the corporate office and tried to speak to Mr. Tony Rodio CEO, only thing, you can only can leave a message, but I know they're heard, because I received call backs from Evansville. They gave me a song a dance as always, and said your luck will change. LOL That must have been infuriating to them that I would take that step, but as an old Airborne Soldier I wanted to get their Attention. And I DID. On Saturday November 1st 2014 I went in loaded my comp play in to one progressive slot and popped it off, by the way I only hit the Max play button. That night I was ready for action, went to the bar proceeded to knock back my favorite double Jack with a splash of water and glass on the side. After many, shamefully I don't know how many, my wife came to the bar and was ready to eat. So we were on our way of of the casino when one of the big wig employees walked in front of me, and I told him to get the blank out of my way... MY BAD.. It's OK it was time to go, and long over due. So we had walked to Mama Mia's to have some dinner, and here comes the Calvary four of them, casino security, long story short I was asked to leave, and while leaving I was giving them my pent up frustrations all the way out the door. I could go on and on about this casino, and what I've observed there. They do have some good things going for them, and I've told them this. Their restaurants are not bad, and they have good entertainment in the Hoosier lounge on weekends. If your into that, we went to play period. For consistent Players if I can leave you anything here, it would be to watch out for signs of what we've experienced over the last several years their. I knew going in that Aztar was rated very badly, hence the re-branding under the corporate name Tropicana, and in my opinion it has become worse. They have resorted to giving away pots and pans luggage and other cheap junk to bring in traffic, I told my wife I find it hilarious, because you see many come in and get it and take it right out the door immediately, and we all know who's paying for that huh? I know we should have hit the door much sooner, but we like to get out of town on the weekends, and have a little fun. Truly I can tell you this, as far a winning we'd been better off to just have stayed at home and played scratch offs in our state lottery, seriously. To sum up this review if you go up there, keep your mouth shut, and when you hear them announce over their PA systems “WILL YOU BE OUR NEXT LUCKY WINNER” Keep your fingers crossed. PS. Their is a good ending kind of, Harrah's casino in Metropolis Illinois, our previous place is coming off the water and is opening up it's new digs on November 19th 2014. We were up their this past Saturday November 8th. And you know what, my wife hit pretty good. So goes the gambling. Also over the years we patronized Aztar, ie. Tropicana never, ever did a host call us for anything. Harrah's DID. TIGHT VERY TIGHT SLOTS PERIOD.. HOPE THIS HELPS... those that might become regulars. ]]> Thu, 20 Nov 2014 16:44:57 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Evansville: Change for the worse.]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2506094 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2506094 I have been going to this casino for about 4 years now and have always enjoyed my experience there...that is until my last visit. First, overcharged for the room. Then the girl checking us in was very rude. We just asked if our room was ready and she gave us attitude. When room was ready, found that the bathroom was not cleaned. There was a wet wash cloth still on the floor and bathtub was dirty. Took a while for housecleaning to come and clean the bathroom after complaining. But I was there to gamble. Normally all dealers are very friendly, but this time there were two or three dealers that were just flat out rude. I was having a bad run of luck on the blackjack table and left for about 30 minutes and came back. The dealer then looked at me and said "well looks like this table is jinxed now". Walked away in disgust. Then went to play 6 card poker. Never played before so watched others play and looked for any rules on the table. After I felt comfortable with the rules, I started playing. Dealer turned up my hand and then berated me for not putting cards in proper order. So now I am supposed to do the dealers job? And if he had been nicer about it, would not be a big deal...but he just expected me to know that is how I am supposed to present the cards. Before this incident I always had a good time at this casino. Could be just one bad night. Will come back again just to see, but if the experience is anything like this one, count me out. Just be wary. ]]> Fri, 02 Nov 2012 03:01:52 +0000 <![CDATA[Bally's Evansville: Hit it big]]> https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2504892 https://www.americancasinoguidebook.com/indiana/ballys-evansville.html/discussions/2504892 I was playing blackjack recently at the $5 min table and after about 4 hrs of playing I found myself up over 3grand. The pit boss, casino mgr and another person came to my table and "froze" the table. All cards were thrown away all chips were colored up and the whole table was removed from the floor with every dealer. All new table, chips, cards and dealers were brought in and I couldn't even get a push. The dealer hit blackjack 6 times in a row. Like it states everywhere the house always wins and if they don't they will change things around so they can win. ]]> Thu, 01 Dec 2011 07:32:11 +0000
